Lord of War Question

hi, I'm pretty new to warhammer 40k in general, I only started out recently with the dark imperium box to basically try out the game and decided to join the ranks of the Dark Eldar.

I would like to field a big unit, are Dark Eldar able to use for example a Wraith Knight without losing all of their faction bonuses?

You can just field a Wraithknight as a super-heavy auxiliary detachment, costs no CP, doesn't impact battle-forged.

That's how I run my Phantom and revenants if I use them.

oh cool, I also heard the wraith knight is not super good so I can field him on 1500 points without being cheesy right?

It has a very expensive pts cost to be interesting. So yeah, not too cheesy.
The Glaive + Scattershield version is the most interesting one in terms of effectiveness imho.

The secondary weapons of the knight seem more than lacking tho and 12M doesn't seem to support a melee playstyle with such a huge model. If the invulsave would be 4+ then I'd say scattershield is worth it but 5+ seems like a waste.

Yes, if you are running an Aeldari Army.
As long as every Detachment (and therefore unit) shares the Aeldari keyowrd, you can do it.

Cool, I'm thinking about it but probably will just stick to Dark Eldar flyers. Do you guys think ppl would be ok if I said my Razorwings counted as Voidravens? The model is like 2 times the price for the same pointcost ._.

Depends on your group I suppose, but I do think the bomber is significantly bigger than the fighter. Don't actually own a bomber so I can't confirm that, but I think that's the case. Plus the bomber is such a nice model, it would be nice to get it.

It certainly is larger than the razorwing. I just built a bomber.

I prefer Razorwings. The one missile that they both have but the Razor can do it for much cheaper is the Shatterfield. It's actually very good. Not to mention Necrotoxin got 3d3 shots now.

Bomber is significantly larger. I have 2 Razors and 1 Bomber just for variety.

The necrotoxin is missing DS for me, doesn't sound very good in my coverheavy meta, the worst we usually have here is a 4+ save

Take your Razorwing with the obsession that let's you ignore cover bonuses ... That should fix some of the problems after this Saturday ... I think it's the Obsidian Rose obsession ...

With the other version you don't even have an invul lol.
Plus you have 12" + d6 (advance) & 7" of Fire & Fade T1 to bring him to CC T2. Except vs vehicle heavy lists, or shadowsword, he should be able to make it into CC, don't worry: If you are playing a Super Heavy Aux. Detachment, you give him the Ulthwé CW trait for a 6+++ (3+/5++/6+++)

Secondary weapons are Assault, so you will just have -1 to hit.

For testing before buying it, I don't see the problem honestly.
In tourney, it is different.

It´s a shame, that adding a wraith Knight still enables you to use Drukhari and CWE strategems..
