| i disagree, strife and black heart can potentially be the most powerful choices we have. Yes some things we needed did not make it (HQ speed, transport capacity, ranged defence etc.) but overall it seems like we got a solid codex... Testing it on the battlefield will be the final judge ^_^ | |

| I can't watch the video now, but have Haemonculus weapons been diversified yet? It still looks like ECW is the no brainer choice. | |

It still is, nothing has changed except the point costs. Everything has gone down a few here and there except the scissor hand

| I do miss the days when a new codex would contain more units than the previous one, rather than fewer. - DevilDoll wrote:

To be honest, I'm less forgiving about the HQ/transport thing. Especially when they basically forced us to take extra HQs. I think what I find irritating is that it's such an easy thing to fix. - They could easily give Archons the option of wings, and suggest converting one from a Scourge. - They could easily give Succubi Jetbike or Skyboard options and suggest converting a Reaver or Hellion, respectively. - Failing that, they could at least give us an artefact that confers flight - since these don't even need to be modelled. Given that they've removed another two units from our codex, I really don't think it's much to ask. I think it bugs me even more because they got so many other things right.

| We won`t getting Vect or Dais (or anything else) since now.
Now we can rely only on what we already have inside codex. Sad, but true

Like, whether they don't regard it as an issue ("We gave them 2 extra inches over Space Marines, what more do they want?" ) or or whether its to do with models or whether they just think every HQ should be riding in his own personal transport or something. On a different note, what do you think of Liquifier Guns and Hexrifles at their current price? I know that the Ossefactor is going to be better on Wracks, but what about on Grotesques, Acothysts and Haemonculi? Are either worth taking on them?

| I mean we all agree, we'd all love to have options to let our characters get much higher movement/fly keyword, but it was a stretch for them to give us those options and now we know it's not going to happen, so I feel like we can move on. | |

| Yeah. I'd be interested I hearing why they didn't think it worth doing. It might male it easier to understand. | |

| With all the new models they have been releasing of late it wouldn't surprise me if they don't revisit all armies once they have got all of the new stuff out of the way and updated all the index armies to full codexes. Until then move on. | |

| Quite frankly, this Codex is likely to make us stronger than we've ever been. No Codex is perfect and I think nitpicking is out of place.
There are many ways around HQ mobility like simply having a Tank Command Archon for Ravagers or a Red Grief Succubus with Hypex on foot (10" move, 3++ and Blood Glaive). Or just stick them with something choppy in a Raider (Incubi, Grotesques or a Court).
Really, all of these possibilities are viable.

| So, now that we've established that we're definitely not going to talk about HQ mobility anymore . . . is there anything we do want to talk about in this thread? | |

| Oh, I've got a question. Now that Haemonculi come with Stinger Pistols by default, does that mean they can't take Parasite's Kiss anymore? | |

| Not sure.
Normally I wouldn't really have much of a hope for new DE releases anytime soon, but dark eldar models are selling out like crazy on the GW webstore. I think literally over half of our models are out of stock which shows the codex is really getting people to buy more DE. So there is a sliver of hope for new stuff down the road, but my guess is GW has their releases planned for at least until the end of the year, so we're looking at probably a year plus-two years before seeing anything if it were going to happen.

| The transport thing is indeed a major pain in the ass. They had lots of opportunities to add these options back, although I guess when even Space Marines no longer get a biker HQ model in the core codex, the writing is on the wall about just how much conversion GW is trying to encourage (read: none, buy another kit!).
Having an Archon on a bike you could zip up to support first-turn deep striking forces with your aura is something almost all armies can do, it would have been a real nice treat.
Oh well.
With the popularity of this range due to this codex, I am hoping we get featured in a boxed set down the road like Forgebane or whatnot. Once all the codices have been released, that is pretty much the future of all other releases.

Except they do still get captains on bikes? No one else, sure, but...unless you specifically meant the model and not codex entry?

| It's literally as easy as changing transport capacity on raiders and venoms like holy frak. Maybe even dropping incubi back down to min squad 3 considering they're bodyguards of the frak Archons and all | |
