2000 Black Heart and Cult of Strife

I don't think it's a big problem for Scourges dropping on turn 2. I found that after 1 or 2 turns of enemy movement there is plenty of space on their back-lines to drop into some nice targets

Incubi worked well so far. I face mostly MEQ and Orks/Tyranids army and so far they did good with the MEQ half of my opponents. I haven't still played against an horde with the list so we will see. The main reason I play them is because I love the models and their background (I usually start from "what models I'll like to play?" when I build a list)

Regarding Incubi and the 3000p list, I'm wondering If I'm not getting to much on the close combat side. Maybe I could replace them with more ranged fire. 5 Mandrakes maybe? A DC Raider?

Crixalis comments about the Flayed Skull Airwing had me start to think about mixing more Obsessions. Maybe I could try to squeeze in another Archon for a Black Heart Spearhead with the 3 Ravagers and the other boats and convert the current Black Heart Battalion to the Obsidian Rose for the +6" on the Blasters and Splinter Rifles

What do you guys think? The big 3000p game will be tomorrow

In this case i use reavers mainly as chaff and objective catchers. But am a bit curious on switching in a big unit like you are using instead of incubi. How do you play them. Turn 1 charge to lock down enemy army or do you hold them back a turn in favour of the decapitating move?

I'd love to field a big unit of Mandrakes too! How are they doing ?

If there is the opportunity, I will charge my Reavers turn 1 after an Eviscerating Fly-By. I try to not kill my target in my turn so a multi-charge (and Painbringer) could be useful here

I had to drop the special weapons on the Acothysts but 2 24" Blaster that hit at 2+ are too sweet to pass over

The Succubus will march with the Grots, Haemonculus and Urien to take advantage of her No Escape rule

The Venoms should be in Obsidian Rose as well. Why would you want to have Warriors than out-range the Venom? 21 inch rapid fire on the Venom's Splinter Cannon is gold.

Other than that I like the list. Try the Flayed Skull Air Wing if there's a lot of cover/gun lines on your board. It can really help Razorwings clear infantry since they don't have much AP on their missiles.

uhm I put the Venom in the Black Heart Spearhead to give them a bit of extra protection but what your saying make sense. Changing it !

I guess people have different opinions about the mandrake but for me they have been exceptionally good. A turn 2-3 deepstrike that often tip the scale in some really tight situations.

Guess I will have to try that big unit of reavers some day. In my mind it sounds like a really solid strategy playing them as you do.

@Betelgeuse: good to known! Are they working better while shooting or in CC?

The raid was successful !

I faced an Orks - Necron alliance in a Front-line Warfare mission (from Chapter Approved) with Hammer and Anvil deployment

I started to deploy first and finished last putting down all my units except the Scourges. We basically end up deploying the majority of our units facing each other on the edged of ours deployment zones. I put a big wall of Grots on the line with the two 10-man units of Wracks flanking them, Urin, the Succubus and the Haemy behind them with the Taloi closing the formation. All my other (very fast) units covered the rest of my deployment zone to guard from deep strikes (they had a unit of 6 Death Marks in reserves). The 8 man unit of Wracks guarded the back of my Warlord Rider, in proximity of the objective in my deployment zone

The Reavers were, again, one the of best unit of the game, this time for their resilience! With the Grots, they absorbed a very big portion of the Necron shooting and were dead by the end of the third turn but by that time I was able cripple their armies to the point that they were unable to accomplish the mission objective and they conceded.

The Coven units were tough as nails, they were able to kill only 4 Grots and 2 or 3 Wracks

In the end I lost the Reavers, one unit of Scrouges and 2 Scourges from the second units, 4 Grots, some Wracks and four wounds on a Venom, 3 on a Razorwing (from the Deceiver in CC) and one on a Ravager (I charged it along one of it's mates and the wounded Venom into the wounded Necron Warlord to try and finish it off after I cleared up a big unit of 21 Orks and some Necron Warriors that jumped on my objective)

In return I killed 2 T8 Battlewagons (First Blood for me), a Trukk, a unit of 3 Meganoboz, a mob of 30 Boyz, a Ghost Ark, a unit of 5 Tomb Blades, the Dead Marks, a unit of 10 Warriors, 14 Burnaboys who tried to flame my Grots.

When they conceded I was controlling my objective and the two in the middle of the field and I just cleared the 10 Warriors that were guarding their objective, leaving only a Cryptek there. I scored First Blood, Line Breaker and was ready to finish up their Warlord in the next turn

Flayed Skulls helped my Air Wing but the real winner was the Obsidian Rose obsession for my Kabalites, Blasters and Venoms. I shoot a godly amount of poison last night lol. I'd like to be able to keep it for my 2000p list but I'm not so happy about loosing the Incubi in that list
