Subject: Making A Male Succubus....a use for Mandrakes? Tue Nov 15 2011, 23:19
...Yes thats right, I plan on making a male Succubus (partly due to the fact one of my best friends who also plays Dark Eldar wants all her Wyches to be female and asked me if I would trade her my female bodies for male ones...and I agreed), but for the Succubus I don't want to have the boring male suit body.
After looking around on the webway (internet for those still trapped in the 21st century) for topless male human bodies, considering Beastmen bodies and lots of things not worth even repeating....I found a post off Warseer which after reading it lead me back to our own and the well known Mandrakes (why I didn't think of it sooner...inb4 splinter guns pointing at my head for this failure), and for me personally, found a use for one of the strangest things in our book.
My question is this: Are Mandrake torsos compatible with Wych body parts? If so, how much sculpting/remodelling would be needed, if any, to make it work? Or if this isn't possible, does anyone know of any other nake male torsos that would work?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and honoured with internet Pain Tokens =]

Looking at various pics on the webway, I suspect that if they are not a perfect fit, they would at least be pretty darn close. I can't think of any other readily-available options, Wracks have partially naked torsos but would need a lot of work on the abs and back areas.
Your idea sounds very good, can't wait to see your pics of this.

the upper part of an empire flaggelent might do it. A chaos marauder is barechested but probably too big.

For GW models reference, check spruepics forum (link is in Tutorials) for plastic parts.
Mandrakes probably would work, however You need to consider fact they have "failfire" arm and not so subtle weapons (more like garden tools)
As fo non GW models... check miniatures from Dark Age, they have some pretty cool models
(that Skaard guy IMHO can be used with simple hand swap)
Oh and You can pick some ladies too, they are more or less NSFW so no pics here
or sculpt it (I may make some tutorials but better check on internet since I don't know how much time it may take me, IF I would make it.)
[edit] I had doubts about his size (tho his "special edition" model is ok) but he stand on this rock so he is a bit higher than normal model. Also figured out that You can cut this "ponytail" on his head pretty easy.

Make sure you pop him in the 'alternate minatures' thread - he'd make a great haemy with a head swap and a little pimping out with stabby things.

@ Gobsmacked: First thought was ironically Wracks but as you said it would require major work for the abs and the back. Also, I will definitely try to get pics of this up.
@ Phototoxin: Unfortunately both Empire and Marauders look too big, though the Empire bodies do look smaller, so I'll take a look next time I'm at my local.
@ Local_Ork: Checked the spruces form, and it doesn't look like its been active for AGES. If I was to scuplt it I would be in definite need of tutorials, and that would be a last resort because the last time I recall scuplting something, I was in primary school >.>
@ Dark Age mini: <3 That thing looks awesome and will definitely have to be bought at some point, but probably not for this as I really want my Succubus to be like Lelith in that he will be in a action pose rather than standing still, but if everything else fails I will make him a Succubus. Also, I agree that he'd make an awesome haemy...
Also, all I want the Mandrakes for in this project is their torsos since I intend to have my Succubus armed with the left Hydra Gauntlet and one of the chain arms from the Wyches spruce.
To all of you thank you for your help *gives out internet Pain Tokens* =]

You could try using Fabio... I mean Sigvald as a base for the conversion. You can just paint him flesh colored.
(mods, please repair my link... darn newbie members! )
Fixed. Gob.

@ Angrypeasant: *facepalms* I didn't even think about Sigvald, which is odd since he's probably one of my favourite characters in Fantasy, and I even have his book from Black Library (21st birthday present from the friend mentioned in first post, who also loves Sigvald and anything Slaaneshi). Thanks dude, definitely one to consider =]

I do believe the wracks are viable.
The may not be the best fit right off the bat, but with a little green stuff craftily used with the fabric from the wych legs, you could do a whole lot of bare chested wyches/male succubus quite easily.
Since its fine cast, hand swaps I think would be prety easy as well with a little careful pinning for added strength.

@ GAR: Good point on the Wracks actually, something definitely to consider and thanks *gives you and Angrypeasent Pain Tokens* =]
Clearly, from the responses from you all, the great help and ideas (which may end up making a number of Wyches barechested) I know this will have to be good with thanks to everyone and hopefully I will get this done sometime in the near future, and anymore ideas would be welcomed.

One idea is to use the Wood Elf Highborn with Great Weapon (the one standing on a log). I used him as a female Succubus as some Elf models tend to look slightly androgynous so I could get away with it.
I added an ES whip and venom blade to replace his halberd and added the resin trophy rack off the official Succubus model. The leaves in his cloak were painted silver to look like barbed metal. This worked well as the trophy rack has the three skulls held together by barbed wire so it looked like a continuation of the theme. I cut the quiver off and filed it as best I could. I painted the remaining strip to look like a kilt of some sort. I left the gremlin under the trunk as there are probably shedloads of weird little creatures scuttling around Commorragh.
