I just wanted to "say" out loud how much I despise the very concept of the Conflgration Cannon (on the Knight Valiant - 3d6 auto-hitting shots).

It destroyed my Voidraven in a single turn, with no previous damage.


How, oh how, have we gotten to a state of war where literal FIRE is the best anti-aircraft weaponary the Imperium has.

"Oh no, a Drukhari fleeet has entered orbit!"
"Grab the Flamers."


Ugh.

Yeah this is one of the dumber rules interactions this edition. I definitely think hard-to-hit needs to say that auto hit weapons can’t target them, or maybe get 1/3 of their normal number of shots.

Eh, it’s a mechanic. I don’t like the above suggestion because it makes Craftworld flyers that much more annoying/invincible.

It’s goofy, sure, but think of it as being tagged during a bombing/straffing round. It’s a severe abstraction in a ruleset all about abstractions but it works as a tactical option.

I ran a Valiant and 2 Acherons recently against Alatoic Eldar. He was so mad.

Yeah, this is exactly it. Great way to put it.

Maybe the flamers just toss up enough smoke to confuse the pilot's ability to dodge the other incoming fire

everything is permitted against alaitoc

With an 18inch range, this has to be one of the best weapons to load out a knight with.

Quite literally ruins every drukhari / quins / eldar list.

The only option is to dupe your opponent into wasting it, because on it's own it basically breaks the game against anything except Death Guard.
