| Greetings one and all.... With my eternal quest to define exactly what I want my DE Army to be.... and look like.... I have been looking around for more unique colors. I found a pic that caught my eye... How would you define the color of the vehicle/gun platform? I was thinking that it loos like a basecoat of a 3:1 mix of skull white: fortress grey to give the "off-white" color and then a wash in Devlan Mud??? any thoughts? Then going back and highlighting with the same basecoat mix. Any thoughts? | |

| I like purple version of that Anyway I think from GW pallete closest would be discontinued Pallid Flesh (check paint chart in Tutorials for replacement), Tallarn Flesh as shadow, Dheneb Stone as fighlight (obviously add those to PF) and washed with Gryphonne Sepia Wash. | |

| I have been playing around with the paints... I came up with:
Prime: White Basecoat: Khemri Brown Wash: Ogryn Flesh Dry Brush: (Mix 1:1) Mechrite Red : Khemri Brown Wash: Devlan Mud

As far as the purple version...
That looks like a basecoat of Tallern Flash with a wash of Leviathan Purple???

| The hull color almost looks like a mauve color? Absolutely no idea how to get that color though... | |

| I grabbed a mini and started to play around with the colors. This purple came out rather well and due to the wash effect, there seems to be less highlighting needed. Pearlized paint??? That might be interesting. If I could find a light purple pearl... I could then wash it with Leviathan Purple. That might be an interesting coloration. The quest continues.... | |

| You can always just add Iridescent Medium to regular paint to get the pearl effect. http://www.liquitex.com/iridescentmedium/ It really is easy to use. | |

| I found a bottle of "Diamond Medium" in my wife's scrap-booking supplies. I went over the armor with slightly watered-down version. The pearlization looks pretty good. I tried to use natural light to give it the best effect. What do you think? | |

| That,my friedns is closest to the old GW color "Tanned flesh" It's a slightly more orange red washed out color. Purple is my fav DE color, but that's not it.
I'd start playing with Dwarf flesh and ... vermin brown? It's been too long.
Mix some white into thishttp://paizo.com/store/byCompany/v/vallejoPaints/paints/tan/v5748btpy7qh3
Or Reaper mini's master paint # 9072

| Funny that one of my testfigures turn out, almost the same colour as your picture of idea. 1. White undercoat 2. Devlan mud wash 3. Baal Red wash, two times. (Now it should look almost pink) 4. Watered down Vallejo Heavy red, mixed with badab black wash. 6:1:1, water:heavy red: black wash. Had to do step 4, because the red wash didn´t want to stay on the larger flat areas. Not done any details on the testfigure, just wanted to find a suitable colour for my new army. | |

| I was going to say it looks like a mix of graveyard earth with a touch of scorched brown.
But that last figure looks pretty close.
