I like it. Only thing I would suggest is trying to fit an alliance of agony in somehow. Have a rough idea who rides where?/tactics particularly with the 20 strong Wych squad are they aiming to webway gate somewhere?

I was thinking about it but there's no WL trait that fits with cursed blade that I'm that keen on, I'd rather spend the CPs on -1 to hit and +1 cover saves. The wyches wil either go in webway reserve or act as a screen depending on opponent

And the characters + mandrakes will go in the raider, giving me that mortal wound gunboat mixed with melee, the warriors will ride in venoms

Cursed blade doesn't get the best deal for warlord traits I agree. You aren't far off being able to put a heamy in with a PoF outrider with the scourges but I can see why you don't want to do that. I do really like it. Will be interested to see how it works for you

My original list had one to provide diabolical soothsayer amd the mask with them and a 1x6 reaver squad supporting the hellions, but it meant having them as 2x15 which for my needs might not fit. The list is based around screen clear out, disruption and manipulating weak points, much like my old 7th ed army. The idea is to forward the hellions, use warriors to isolate units and take points while having the wyches tie up critical units in a tarpit

Interestingly very similar to a list I made before. My view of this is that we have so many manouverable units that transports are useful but sink our points. I think it is a good list, but i'd be very tempted myself to pull out some transports for units that have an active role in damage dealing. It's just my view, I'm a glass cannon DE player, hence why I'm not a massive coven fan. I like playing my DE like I did my 7th ed WFB woodelf army

That's a fair point. I think of it two ways. The vehicle costs points but ups average toughness, provides a slightly better invuln, and provides a janky kind of movement (disembark rules, can get trapped, etc.)

Something like hellions prices the movement into the base unit, but at the tradeoff of putting the survivability in stratagems.

I like your list. If I were going to try it, I only have 20 hellions and 2 units of scourges, so I'd likely swap the 2nd set for razorwings (lots of wounds to soak, board control, chaff. best per-point psychic absorption in the game), and figure out a way to add some more AT.

I like mandrakes, and running them in the boat is interesting. I'd love to know how that works.

Also a great way to go, I think the list is based largely on my playstyle. I'm a 7th ed player, so I'm tranfering a lot of my way of playing to this edition without being able to playtest. But. My view with an army like ours, is that multi-threat offence can be used as a method of defence. We're a tactical, versitile and movement based army. I love razorwings, they're sooooo good. For me there is one way of playing this army: my oppponent will most likely target my hellions, which is why I give them a full unit of 20 to target, if I get 1st turn, by turn 2 they'll probably still have 1/1.5 hellion units to target, but will hopefully have 0 screen given my bomb run + combat, with whatever I have left, it can stil charge, fall back, shoot, take pts etc. I've still got wyches to take on the brunt of enemy shooting and even after that, I hVe scourge to take out key vehicles, my gunboat or characters to take characters etc. It is very much dependent on my opponent. I can see this list working against imperial IG + knight lists, chaos cultist spams, orks and possibly tau but sure, I'll get screwed by some lists that will help me play better. Love the game, try to play well id my main concern.

My only big concern with your list in relation to the above point: razorwings are great screens, so what are you screening? This is where those wyches could be bigger units to follow those lovely smite screens or maybe other units such as reavers could add a bit of blaster pot shot to the list?

My theory is screening for the wyches in raiders. Without a vexator mask, against a punchy army (all-field genestealers, upcoming orks), screening to absorb a charge and provide a guaranteed counterpunch is worth the sacrifice.

Against a non-punchy list, you can put stratagems into the birds to have them hug something, fall back cruel deception (I think works on them) to charge something further up field, etc.

theory for now though. Bikes are good, but expensive. I've toyed with doing haywire bikes, but they are more expensive. Screening with them for hellions might be OK. Screening with them for coven would be a different list.

they'd also be a good screen for an allied seer potentially.
