| Basically the title.
To begin, I really love the idea of the Soul Seeker - being able to snipe characters even out of LoS seems like great fun and very fluffy. It also seemed like a particularly good fit for one of my Archons, as I used a Mandrake model for him.
The problem is that it just doesn't seem to work. I've played it in a multitude of games but have only ever killed 1 character with it (a SM Lieutenant). In spite of hitting and wounding on 2s, it seems that I'm lucky to score even a single wound (you wouldn't believe how many 1s I roll with it), and when it finally manages to wound the AP isn't spectacular.
Anyway, I was just wondering whether I'm just extremely unlucky or whether everyone else has also found this weapon lacklustre in practise?
If anyone has had success with it, I'd greatly appreciate any tips they can give me on how best to use it, and whether you fire it from a vehicle or on foot.

| Sadly, it just is not as good as taking a Djinn Blade. It is nowhere near as good as the Writ, and not even on the same planet as the Vexator Mask. It seems situational at best, but you get so much more mileage with our other "toys".

Well, I know it's not the best, but I'd be fine with that if it was at least effective in its own right. Sadly, it seems like I'm better off just taking a Blaster.

| From the lack of replies to this thread, I'm going to go ahead and assume that no one has had success with the Soul Seeker. | |

More like nobody really tried it, over more efficient relics.

| I use it most of the times, as i usually play as PT. It's fun and quite surprsing gun for the enemy. I've killed librarian hiding behind the screen, killed sm banner. I think it's a decent relic. | |

Do you generally fire from aboard a vehicle or while on foot?

| I used it for the first time in a game yesterday, I fired it precisely twice the first time at a necron cryptek but all the lychguard nearby took the wound instead (both his characters were close enough for the lychguard to take wounds.) The second time I fired it the characters were in combat so I shot some warriors and did two wounds but both were saved. The game was over by the end of my turn with him having only one unit left on the table. Not a great debut but it didn't have a lot of useful targets so I am reserving judgement | |

| I have used it 3 times. I never really found it all that good - just kinda lack luster. The AP 0 really hurts it... and with our speed often times I can just position to snipe a character if needed. Blaster to the face hurts more than plinking away with the pistol. | |

| Ap 0 really sucks. The dark artisan relic and stratagem is better at the same job | |

Minor point but the Soul Seeker is actually AP-1, not AP0.

| That’s actually an important oversight. That’ll force most models to use their invuln over their armour so it’s really all the AP you need when hunting important characters | |

| Ah - my mistake. I played it wrong then too. TBH, I doubt it would have made much of a difference | |

| If we had decent snipers/used allies it could be useful? | |

| @soulless samurai I mostly shot the SSP while on foot, cuz the raider went poof this turn or before. However, I try to do it from the vehicle. | |
