Hey Everyone,

After 3 years of playing Chaos I've decided to start collecting Dark Eldar, so I've built up this list. Basically an 1850 list designed to take on any situation and any army. Feel free to absolutely smash the list, as I actually haven't bought any models yet. Thanks Smile

Those wracks will join the Haemonculi in the Venom during deployment and will either deep strike (Low orbit raid) or just power through to an appropriate location through to drop one of the webway portals (brought 2 in case one dies). Any infantry without transports will enter through the WWP.

I don't believe you have enough AT in the list.
I make it there are 13 darklight weapons in there, 5 of which are on 1 unit deploying through the portal, I just can't see that being enough at this level. I regularly run with around 20 at 1750 points and often wish I had more.

It looks like you have 5 units coming through the portal, and I'm kind of iffy about 3 of them , as follows.
The Incubi have no grenades so can't assault into cover which will hinder them greatly.

The 12 warriors will only be able to fire at short range the turn they come on due to moving and unless they have a soft target will do little damage. They should not even be thinking of assaulting, they just don't cut it. I see these guys stepping out the portal and instantly being wiped out.

The trueborn would be much better in a raider or venom. Having this much AT firepower in reserve, unsure of when it will come on is a bit risky.

The wyches as a unit through the portal are fine, however haywires need to be bought for the full squad not individual models.

I'm not quite sure whet the Duke is bringing to the list here either.

Overall I reckon it's a bit too confused, it's not got enough effective elements to make the portal work, but at the same time almost half the points have been used for units to deploy or use the portal.

I'd suggest getting some beasts and/or hellions to come out the portal, perhaps a Talos as well. I'd sort out the wych units with grenades and get some more mobile AT in there.

I agree it seems very confused. I would certainly take the DL of the Warriors as they cant fire it unless they dont move, and thats not really what you want from a DE army especially if they are in a Raider. Personally i would drop the WWP's and transport up, you will end up with less units on the board but they will be a darn sight quicker, plus the Duke will start earning his keep by giving them all Deep Strike for free so you can still leave some in reserve.

Kenny, thanks for the details Smile

Just a quick question (this is my first list), What happens when the transports scatter into impassable terrain or enemy units? After deep striking them

EDIT: Now have 2 venoms and 4 raiders, removed Haemonculi, kept wracks (now have 5). So I have the transports in there, but have been reduced to 4 squads of 10 troops.

They would mishap, so you roll on the mishap table and depending on the result they would be either - destroyed, delayed or your opponent chooses where to place them. Usually in an unoccupied area of the board far away from everything Sad

Waste of space, if they were scoring, I'd respect them hiding somewhere and on foot still, but the LG is just wasted space entirely if they're on foot.

I hope you mean 10 Haywire Grenades here too as EVERY model must be upgraded to get grenades in these squads, not only a select few.

And lastly: Where does Duke go? The Wracks?

Okay.
The Ravagers have enhanced Aethersails mainly for last turn emergency objective grabs/contests.

Wracks are out. I can agree with you easily there, they're out. I'll figure something out to replace it.

Haywire grenades: Sorry, I came from a chaos army where you could give nades to some units but not all, so thanks, changing that now. The 2 points can come from those wraiths Razz

The duke's main use was to allow the vehicles to deepstrike. I'll remove one Incubi (still gonna paint him, they're gorgeous models) and put him in their squad, so he has a venom to ride around in Smile

The Duke is obligated to deploy with Trueborn or Warriors if they are available. So no joining Incubi for you I'm afraid.

Other than that I mostly was just grunting in agreement with Smurfy's thoughts. I personally think you could drop all the Aethersails and do just fine with the army.
