| Hi folks, posting again as I'm playing a bit more 40k lately as my girlfriend has taken up the hobby. On top of that we're planning to attend the team event at Adepticon next year as part of a longer trip to the USA.
This is a bit nebulous, but I'm at a loss to decide what to take to team up with her Dark Eldar, given the restrictions of the Adepticon detachment format. Also I don't yet have 2 additional players, which could end up changing what we do.
Her list is likely to be either kabalasters in Venoms, with Ravagers or Masked Haemonculus with Talos because that's just so juicy on the charge. The problem for the latter is that we need to take Wracks, which means a load of work, and I hate the models, but most of mine are converted so that's points for us. What I'm trying to weigh up is whether I should pick up my paint brush and do some Harlequins or CWE, or should I break out my DE too? I'm not likely to win any points for the painting on my DE though, and secretly I want to run my Wraithseer as I recently bought it...
so options are
DE for me too - largely painted already, but the infantry are mostly old DE plastics given the minimum CWE - Alaitoc or Iyanden as I have some stuff painted already, Harlequins - none painted, and short on the good jetbikes
or something else and not get the benefits of having the same keyword?

| Depends, if its 2x2 then I would suggest one of you focus more anti tank and the other anti infantry, meaning her haemunculus and talos with the obligatory wrecks would be amazing at the anti infantry part which means you could bring iyanden and all of its wraith goodness to bear on tanks, heavy infantry, and multi wound models or vise versa where she stuffs all the dissie cannons and haywire she can into a list for anti-tank/heavy infantry duty and you run tons of Harliquen troupes for anti-infantry .... however going two full DE means one can cram Dark Lance's and stuff in one list and the other can cram full of poison ... but that's just a suggestion o.o | |

| Definitely a good strategy.
My only concern with 2 players with DE, is how much space it needs to transport, a Talos is not a small figure, and probably is a bit more spikey that and equivalent Wraithlord, so more difficult to transport. We had some test games this weekend gone, and she's very happy with her Talos, so I think those and wracks will be her list, now to repair the wracks she bought second hand and have a few more test games.

| I love my talos as well even though I only have 3, how does she have them equipped? I tend to run mine dual purpose and as Coven of Twelve ... so they would have Chain-Flails for 10 AP-1 attacks with reroll wounds, a liquified gun for 8" 2D6 auto hits (this is the anti infantry part) and then the dual-haywore blasters for 2D3 haywire shots (anti tank) and this way even the wracks are a bit more dangerous with AP-1 wounds that always wound on a 4+ and then stuff like the electro corrosive whip for acothysts and the heamy are even more dangerous... with an additional ap on them ... so I would say if she loves the coven let her go anti infantry with the talos being able to pull double duty... and then try to run some Cronos too ... mostly as a little bit of a boost with a 6" aura that let's you reroll wound rolls of 1 ... to baby sit the wracks ... talos get a better version with chain flails) as for transporting... I used a shoebox for a while ... it worked ok, but now I have a couple carrying cases from Battlefoam that work wonderfully... but I don't think there isnt gonna be a none bulky way to carry them around... | |

| Sorry for the slow reply, been abroad, and changing jobs.
We've been running up to 5 Talos with the default CC weapons, and switching between splinter cannons and haywire blasters. Longer ranged guns actually pay dividends as people run from the Talos mob so you can shoot them as they do, but killing tanks with haywire is fun. We've been using them as prophets of flesh to get the Vexator mask. No overwatch on the Haemy, and then charge in with your Talos...so much hurt.
KR multicase have some decent foam but it's 80mm tall (over 3") so we're going to be tight on space using that. system for both armies.

| Aside from the heamy what would you run with them? And what would the primary target of the talos be? | |

| We'd need to run a few squads of wracks to meet the troops choices, beyond that, it depends what we can fit into the carrying case. A jetfighter would be useful, or even a Reaper, but I'm less keen to haul that in carry on. As for targets, I've had them used against me to wreck a knight, other than that hit or tie up large units, or high damage output units in CC. | |

| That works target wise, as for the wracks are they going to be used as objective denial or charge/countercharge or harrassment units? Cause I really think the coven unita need to be front line and not just sitting on objectives, let the kabal units fo that and use the coven units as a shield for them | |

| OK been a while, but I'm thinking the lists will be something as follows: (remember this is an Adepticon Team so the force org is 1-2 HQ, 2-4 Troops and 0-1 of everything else for the standard detachment, of which you can have only one detachment. Also it's made up of 2 x 1000 forces). *yes there are some other detachments you can take, but you lose CPs
Dark Eldar (Prophets of Flesh):
HQ 2 x Haemonculus (1 with Vexator Mask) Troops 3xWracks(5) Elites 1xGrotesques(4, 1 with Liquifier) DT 3x Venom (2xSplinter Cannon) HS Talos (unit of 3 with Haywire)
52 points left for something...
Craftworld Eldar for the other 1000 points: (Alaitoc probably)
HQ Spiritseer Wraithseer with Wraithcannon
Troops 5x Rangers 5 x Rangers
Elites 10 x Wraithblades (swords)
Heavy 6 x Dark Reaper
DT Wave Serpent (all Shuriken Cannons)
7 points left...
Thoughts?

| My math may be a little off but I think your Eldar list is only 966 points and not 993 ... but over all they both look solid, if you want, the wrack squads can all take a liquifier gun | |
