The Corsairs of the Scarlet Fiend Plog: Baron Sarthonyx

I got the urge to make The Baron, so here is my take on him. I'm going to really delve into this Dark Eldar army now, so I thought it was time to start sharing (and keep motivated!). I've got quite a bit made, but it's fairly standard stuff and no painting done yet besides bases. I'll take some pics later. So, to start is the Baron.

Any chance you'd share a list of the bits you used?

I can see parts of the Hellion, the Venom kit (chains, legs, left arm- maybe the lower wings?), scourges..
But I can't figure out where the cape and the torso are from..

That looks really nice. I dig the choice of passing his large coat for a somewhat scarf-ish looking cape.

The bottom of the board is the back of a Reaver, and the torso is from the High Elves Dragon kit

Holy crap Dez, that turned out AWESOME! Great use of parts. The torso and cape are from the HE Dragon Mage then? I've wanted to do a Baron conversion but have never found a plastic cape that did the model justice. The foofy collar of the cape gives him a nice arrogant look.

I like the way he's turning out.
Perhaps consider having the cape and hair flowing in the same direction for a more "speedy" look.

Would be cool, if you could bend the hairtail in curve, so it lokks like he´s coming into a turning. Much like Speedfreak said.

Thanks guys, I'm going to be buying a heat gun soon so I can do that, I'm not 100% happy with that yet either. It's one of those purchases I've been meaning to make, like a die cutter

Try submerging the part you wish to bend in boiling water.

Otherwise, carefully hold it over a candle (20-30 cm) for a little while.

Just be super careful Dez, I have broken three of those darned braids without even trying

Yeah that's why I have the chain on the end. I was going to add a few of them on and then the choice was made for me

Once the wind motion matches up the cape and chain braid this would probably be the best Sathypants build I've seen. Really like it, unique and deadly looking.

Looking closer, it looks like it would be easiest to remove and realign the cloak, rather than the two brittle details hair and chain.

Nice Baron and well done on the Milk and Cheese avatar. I think you are on the right track moving the cape, even if it gets a little sloppy a few pins and minor green stuff fill in work should cover things up nicely.

I did some work tonite on some Kabalite Trueborn. I have a 2000 Planetstrike game I'm playing in on Tuesday and I need to get enough stuff built. So, here they are so far.
