2k ITC Competitive List

So now that the age of talos spam is over in ITC, I've been thinking venoms are the way to go, but I also think that 3 ravagers and 2 razorwings is not enough AT to deal with knights or lord discordant spam, so I've included a reaper in the black heart spearhead.

Looks good, but Talos spam isnt over, there are still many players doing extremely well with it.

I took 4 talos to an ITC event this past week, they did well like they always do. Sure they count for big game hunter points, but if you're already taking ravagers/razorwings that's not such a big deal anyway. Plus across 3 games my opponent never maxed pts from killing all the talos, and they still smash things quite well.

Overall your list looks good. I don't know if the reaper is really worth it though, if you're really worried about anti-tank I'd take more blasters. Massed splinter fire does well enough anyway for dealing with hordes of infantry. Also one other thing, I don't really see what the wyches are for besides area denial and deep strike blocking, wracks would fill that roll a whole lot better and die less easily. 15 wracks/2 haemonculus is probably close to their cost pts wise.

The problem is that they now also give up gangbuster points, so your opponent can just score the Big Games on the vehicles and gangbusters on the talos.

At this point all units are giving up something, the key is to give them up so late in the game that they cant out score you. When players take Talos that is what they are doing, they are even healing the Talos if 1 survives, b.c thats even longer to kill off the unit.

Hmm I suppose if I run 6 talos in addition to the black heart stuff, they really are tabling me if they're maxing both big game and gangbusters. So I guess it's not really a huge liability...

Exactly, there's a certain point where you have to consider if they get the full max pts from killing say 6 talos and 3 ravagers, you've probably lost the game.

Also I often take just 3 talos, or as I did this past week at an ITC event, 2 units of 1 and 1 unit of 2. No one was taking gangbuster in that case, can't score enough points. I had people taking big game hunter and marked for death against me multiple times, but they were only ever able to max out one, not both.
