| So being in isolation/quarantine/social distancing myself, I have had time to not only hobby (thank the Lord) but finalize a list I want to try for the foreseeable future. I would some advice and critiques. I based it to take advantage of the new ITC missions and use the traits I selected to shine.
Black Heart Batallion Archon, Venom Blade, Writ of Muse Drazhar
x5 Warriors, Blaster x5 Warriors, Blaster x5 Warriors, Blaster x5 Warriors, Blaster
Ravager, x3 Dessies Ravager, x3 Dessies Ravager, x3 Lances
Custom Coven Batallion- Dark Technomancers/Master of Mutagens Haemonculus, Hexrifle, ElectroWhip Haemonculus, Hexrifle, ElectroWhip
x5 Wracks, Hexrifle, Ossefactor x5 Wracks, Hexrifle, Ossefactor x6 Wracks, x2 Liquifyers, Venom Blade
Reaper Reaper
Venom x2 Cannons Venom x2 Cannons Venom x2 Cannons Venom x2 Cannons Raider, Dessie Raider, Dessie
Basic plan is to have both Ossefactor Wrack units to ride in one Raider and the 6 man + Drazhar + Haemonculus (possibly) ride in the other. I have Deepstruck the Raiders in the past and it works well. I know Liquifyers aren't seen as too competitive, but I enjoy the diversity and the auto-hits that do Ap: 1-3 Dmg 2 shots are rather nice for backfield units or advancing hordes for countercharging. The rest is rather basic. Ravagers pew pew as well as Reapers. Reapers are very very good. DT allows them to shine and the ability to rip off multiple D6 dmg shots is so nice. Dmg 2 Venoms who autohit on 6's have been a Godsend as well.
As I said, let me know what you think. I will post some pics of my hobby log that I've done for the last week or so.

| I am not terribly familiar with Wracks (currently building my Coven Battalion), but I am fairly sure you can only take 1 special weapon per 5 men, not two.
Also, I am 75% sure that Mater of Mutagens only works on CC attacks due to a FAQ.
I see that you are trying to maximize the custom Coven with the dual splinter Venoms, curious how that works out. Personally I would rather spend those 40 points on more bodies, but YMMV.
I CAN comment on the Kabal detachment with a little knowledge though. Would recommend staying with the Huskblade on your Archon if you have the points. You dont save much by going with the Venom Blade, and the damage output is much greater (especially considering you are re-rolling 1's to hit and to wound).
Edit: Just checked on the Wracks, I am mistaken. The Sargent can take a hexrifle in addition to the squads special weapon.

| @FisheyesThe Acothyst is the one taking the Hexrifle and the Liquifyer in the squads above. You are confused for Master of Mutagens. Obsessive Collectors and Experimental Creations are FAQ'd about being melee weapons, but not MoM. Master of Mutagens on the Venoms is very very good, I cannot say it enough. On average, 2 auto wounds on the hits. Which not only adds to the wound pool, but if I am "charging" the Cannons due to DT, I now have 2 less dice (on average) to roll a 1 with to hurt myself. On Overwatch, any 6 to hit auto wounds! Plus, you will ALWAYS "charge" those guns on Overwatch because there is 0% chance of hurting yourself. I totally agree on the Huskblade. If I had the points, it would be on there for sure! I have 1pt left in the list above, and I added a 2pt Venom Blade on the Acothyst going with the 6 man Liquifyer unit. But I am still 1pt short! And Ill be honest, the Whips on the Haemonculi are just too good not to keep. I appreciate the comments! The one list I am afraid to face is Tau. With them being able to just sit back and blow us up reliably and then throw wounds on the Drones, I am just unsure how I would combat it. I have thought about DSing vehicles and coming in and flanking or something, but again, not sure. | |

| TY for correcting me, have not bought Phoenix Rising, and probably wont. Glad to hear that there are SOME buffs in there, even if only to Covens.
Tau are a hard match-up for sure. We dont have psychic powers to smite those drones, and no good way to get through that 4++/5+++ (which works out to be equivalent to a 3++ save). Math says Splinter should work fine, but in practice it always feels like a waste.
Venoms should be fine to tank their overwatch, but dont know what you can do to counter those damn drones...

| I would highly recommend getting the Phoenix Rising Book. For one, it does have new traits and things in there for us. Two, the fluff and stories are nice. Three, if you play Eldar and such, having those new rules are nice to have as well. I do think the Ossefactors can help get a 2 for 1 on the drones if I can get them to shoot a couple of times. The drones do worry me quite a bit. I don't have any Tau players in my area so getting a game against them for practice (obviously after this whole mess is over) will be hard to do outside of a tournament. I just feel like they all play the same way and the "tactics" part of their game probably arent there. I am thinking of DSing a bunch of things to play angles, try to get a CC threat there and possibly overwhelm with targets. But I may start a discussion thread on Tau in the Tactics section today or tomorrow.
Overall, what do you think of the list? Any holes? Something I need to change? Something (not Tau) I need to watch out for?

| Only thing I could see biting you is a lack of screening units. With only 4 troop squads, you dont have many disposable units to screen out DS or Smites.
I have not faced either factions before, so dont know for sure. Doubt it would be worth it changing the list just for this very specific scenario.
That is all I can think of.
