[quote="fisheyes"]@Kalmah, I will neither confirm nor deny this awesome fact about Canada.
hehehe so good to live in this country! For every other countries looking at us: since the legalization, our streets hasnt been taken over by hordes of mindless Rastaman! NOTHING has changed in our street! We are still working, and we still have the brain to play Warhammer and when the rage rise on the horizon after a new SM release, this can help swallow the pill

the only thing i see that could wreck this system (seriously i only see positive sides to it) is the way that they will make the Core units....i mean, i sure hope the SM will not have 30 excellent candidates while we just have some there and there units with the core keyword. If they do it cleaver, i think this is a good tool to bring a little bit more ''balance'' in the game
i WANT to believe that they are trying to address the ridiculous auto-hit power of marines with the whole "reroll everything with BS 2" crap that has been going on but i somehow think that we will get shafted more than them in the end as usual...
My knee-jerk reaction is that this will just be more bloat. A bunch of OP stuff will still get Core (looking at you, Marine Aggressors, FW Drednaughts), while other obvious stuff will not (Ravagers/Reapers).
And of course the only DE "Core" units will be Warrior squads, Beast-packs, and Chronos units (for reasons unknown) XD
just speculating here.........could it be that the Core keyword will be used for units exclusive to the faction? Example: the Thousand Sons: The rubric Marines will have the Core Keyword but the Rhino tank (who's available for every SM related faction) will not have it? After all, if those units are available to more than one faction, they are not Core..... This way ALL the truekin units would have the Core keyword..........but again.....i know that i am far from the truth.....probably just daydreaming I'm not really aware of how the SM are built, so probably i'm totally wrong.....don't throw stone at me lol

With exception of the Haemonculus, our Auras were hot garbage. And I doubt that Writ of the Living Muse becomes an artifact that makes Kabalites re-roll 1s to hit and wound. Incubi, Scourges, Mandrakes etc. didn't benefit from auras either.
Many lists will take a heavy hit from this change, but I'm afraid that the "Core" trait will be given out like candy eventually. In theory, this opens some interesting possibilities and could give the Cronos an actual role as a more versatile buff-vector.

We shouldn't care about this rules until we have our Codex. If the book is bad, we can then complain it makes no sense to think about it now.
But of course:
- Pain and Parasite engines should be CORE even if they are heavy. - Klaives and Demiklaives should be improved, now that Power weapons have been buffed. - Archons should work inside transports (and be able to go up too), dedicated transports should be CORE at least in Kabals.
Auras not working on themselves is a nerf to everyone, so we should probably live with that.
Honestly, the only Aura that I use in my DE is the +1T on the Coven stuff. Even that isnt THAT important outside of the Talos (going from T5 to T6 on Grots doesnt affect much outside of specific oponents, and I rarely keep a Haemi to babysit a 60 pt Wrack squad).

The really sad thing is that they lowered the Toughness of the Talos and Cronos. So rather than being a buff (like it is for Wracks and Grotesques), the Haemonculus' aura is instead needed just to break even.

I'm waiting for the codex at this point. Its not like its going to change pre codex release, so all of the worries could be solved. Or not b.c it is DE.

Indeed! if i was to listen to people here, i've made the word decision in my life to start playing Drukhari...all that when not even ONE codex is out. All we have is some leak and people are jumping everywhere throwing their models in the fireplace! Come on! we're all SPECULATING here. Everything is possible! For the eternal pessimists: nothing prevent you from changing game if you don't have any fun anymore (or is it because you like to rant so that you have some attention from people....don't know).
@Kalmah, welcome to Warhammer. Where even the most OP faction has its players online going "Woe is me, my stuff is so underpowered and impossible to win with" XD
Having gone through this cycle a half dozen times, I can see the pattern. Exact. Same. Every. Time.
The wheel of time will turn, and what is on top will be on the bottom again.
Luckily we are all DE here, and feed off the eternal pessimism

that must be were i was wrong! i've forgot that us, Trukin, feed upon the despair of others....i thought it was the despair of other lesser races! Not other....like...even other Drukhari!
Bah i gotta say that in the world of MTG it was the same story again and again (but the cycle is every 3 months....). Every release was the festival of negation and rant. And then stuff comes out and the card that was said to be unplayable is now broken as hell and should be ban. I think its a common point that Geeks share: spending a lot of energy ranting about stuffs that are all fake (like 2 people exchanging how Superman could beat up Hulk and the other saying the contrary and becoming angry at that).
The Blood God does not care from where the blood flows, so long as it flows. Slaanash seems to be the same regarding those extreme emotions.
I personally was quite unhappy when the 8th DE codex dropped and everyone was saying how OP DE were (with all the Little Johnnys jumping on the band wagon).
I prefer the pessimism to the exuberance, although I am sure Slaanash doesnt care
Getting back on topic, I would be happy for a point cut instead of a weapon power increase. Damage 3+D3 may be too powerful for our Lances, and there is no way they are increasing the Damage of our Dissies (too good at Anti Tank)

They could add a rule that prevent a non-vehicle model to use it's feel no pain. Since they are, you know... disintegrated.

Frankly, all darklight weapons should have a bit something extra to account for the loss of our 'lance' rule (and the extra -1 AP that we got doesn't quite cut it). Maybe a damage boost vs. vehicles/monsters.
