So, since AoC is gone and we can take a ton of troops.
Is venom spam back?

I know it looks ridiculous, but in theory, it’s a pretty solid list.

3 characters for eating things
13 units for obsec (65 models all together)
And a whopping 12 venoms.
Run it obsidian rose so you get the 46” range on the cannons.

C&C definitely welcome

I'll admit I've never quite gotten my eyes happy with reading Army Builder lists because they feel very sloppy, but methinks you have too many and some illegal warlord trait selections.

Getting to your core idea, as an old archon I will admit the 6 shot Venom spam always feels a little weedy vs. the 12 shot Venom spam, but certainly this list has a lot of dakka and bodies which can both be helpful. The big drawback I see is how very little you have to oppose vehicles. Any list that is fully meched up (like say Knights, or Dark Eldar) are only going to have to worry about your 12 blasters to start. This doesn't seem that intimidating to me, I know with my usual DE list I'd be quite confident feeling against this list as my Raiders and Ravagers would become quite difficult to kill, and my Dissies, Blasters, and Lances would aggressively outshoot you so I could be dropping multiple boats each turn.

I suspect that floating in some Raiders with lances and or Ravagers to help balance the list you could hit a sweeter point. My gut is saying maybe 7-8 Venoms.

Against any army trying to just spam infantry or MCs this would do quite well though, but I feel it is a bit too paper/rock/scissor for consistent performance in tournaments.

If I was going to do troop-spam, I'd approach it a little differently:

Archon w/ Whatever

5 Incubi
5 Mandrakes
5 Mandrakes

10 Corsair Voidweavers
- Wraithcannon
- 2x Blaster
10 Corsair Voidweavers
- Wraithcannon
- 2x Blaster
10 Corsair Voidweavers
- Wraithcannon
- 2x Blaster
10 Corsair Voidweavers
- Wraithcannon
- 2x Blaster
10 Corsair Voidweavers
- Wraithcannon
- 2x Blaster
10 Corsair Voidweavers
- Wraithcannon
- 2x Blaster
5 Wracks
- 2x Liquifier
- Electrocorrosive Whip

Raider
- Dark Lance
- Splinter Racks
Raider
- Dark Lance
- Splinter Racks
Raider
- Dark Lance
- Splinter Racks
Raider
- Dark Lance
- Splinter Racks
Raider
- Dark Lance
- Splinter Racks
Raider
- Dark Lance
- Splinter Racks
Raider
- Dark Lance

The Archon, Incubi and Wracks share the non-Splinter Racks Raider.

Idea is an old-school gunboat list, but instead of Warriors you've got Corsairs (also known as Warriors: Good Version).

There's quite a bit of flexibility here. I just rushed out an example list, but you could easily strip the Blasters and Splinter Racks out for other stuff, as well as the Wracks (which would get you 250pts to play with).

Anyway, I think it would maintain the concept, whilst giving you more effective firepower than Venoms and Warriors.

EDIT:

I know others here probably don't share my fondness for Corsairs. Fair enough. However, I still think Raiders are the way to go.

If you want some other fun ideas:

Archon + 12x 5 Warriors w/ Blaster, Blast Pistol + 6 x Raider = 1360pts.
Succubus + 12x 5 Wyches w/ Blast Pistol + 6 x Raider = 1370pts.
Haemonculus + 12x 5 Wracks w/ Ossefactor, Hexrifle + 6 x Raider = 1370pts.
Haemonculus + 12x 5 Wracks w/ 2x Liquifier, Electrocorrosive Whip + 6 x Raider = 1550pts.

Each of these gets you 60 troops and 6 transports (and a mandatory HQ), whilst still leaving you a decent number of points to fill out with other units.

Haha, that sure is an interesting concept.

To make a skew list like this, you got to be pretty slanted into a particular target. If we are assuming Iron Hands/Marines and Imperial Guard as or target, I think it could be interesting to lean into Wych cults instead.

Wyches also cost 50 points for a unit of 5, and going with a Custom Cult for the extra Ap and 1+ to wound vs Vehicles/Monsters would be helpful on the Venoms. Throw in some Chain snares to make the venoms become pretty scary in melee!

I dont think this is terribly Competitive, but it could be pretty neat in a Teams-style event where you have more control over the match-up.

As others have said, you cant use the CoS warlord trait for 2 reasons. Firstly the CoS supplement is no longer legal (in Tournament play), and second you only have access to the WLT if a CoS character is your Warlord (instead of Draz). Precision Blows is nearly as good, if you are set on having a WLT on her. Personally I generally save the CP for charge rerolls/etc.

Wait, I missed that. When did the CoS supplement become illegal for tournament play?

As of a few weeks ago, I believe.
