Kabal of The Screaming Maw: Whiptongue Brethren

Well, I haven't given in and opened my Megaforce yet (had it for over a week and still haven't opened it - go me!) but while taking a break from painting three Reaver jetbikes I decided to make some Blasterborn for the Venom lurking in wait. Using a pack of old-school Dark Eldar Warriors that I picked up for a fiver and my steadily-growing Commorrite bitz box, I threw together four and a Dracon which are now waiting for their primer:

Led by Dracon Toxil, the Whiptongue Brethren are a considerably arrogant clique famous amongst the Screaming Maw's Trueborn courtiers for their collective aptitude for scathing contempt, not to mention decadent displays of Darklight-fuelled destruction.

Now rather than go for a uniform look with my Trueborn, I decided to use a mix of old and new parts in order to try and give each Trueborn Kabalite their own personality. Admittedly I could have done this much better if I'd used greenstuff and slice/fix repositioning, but I'm lazy. BEHOLD!

Dracon Toxil


Utterly confident and malicious to the pit of his withered heart, Dracon Toxil is as dangerous with words as he is with his Agonyst-laced blade.

I've tried to give Toxil a relaxed, almost foppish posture, and chose an old Deldar helm because I just got the impression that the warrior inside would be cackling with evil glee.



Using a cloak from an.. Ulfric knights sprue? Or something I nabbed from my mate's bitz-box, anyway, I tried to give this Trueborn an impression of dynamism, using a spare Reaver helm to add to theme.

This is Sea Urchin. It's not his fluff name, but look at him. SEA URCHIN. Covered in spiky bitz galore, he is. I'm actually tempted to try and work a slight Urchin motif onto him somehow.

This fellow is Sea Urchin's sort of brother, but more blady. You might be able to tell that I was running out of steam at this stage.

I like to think that this chap may have some history of Hellionism or Wychery. Once the torso and helm were in place the Scourge arms and blaster just looked perfect for him.

The first three blasters were brought to you by three shredders, two disintegrator cannons and one blast pistol.
