Magnetizing the Venom Empty
PostSubject: Magnetizing the Venom   Magnetizing the Venom I_icon_minitimeSun Dec 25 2011, 17:58

Hey guys,

as the title suggests I'm currently musing what parts to magnetize on my venoms. The most obvious thing was the mounted cannon behind the cockpit, but I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to magnetize the weapon underneath the vehicle as well. You know that the generic venom comes with a TL Splinter Rifle, you just don't use it normally. Would you still magnetize the weapon so you can switch it in case you'll ever use the 10 pts for something else than the extra cannon upgrade?

Cheers

I didn't magnetize te gunner on the back since he can always use his cannon. The underslung cannon I did magnetize for when I ever need the 10 points...
Check my project log for the pics on my magnetized venom!

Cheers & merry xmas!

I would magnetise it just for purpose of "weapon - destroyed". Even if our vehicles are made from gas-soaked cardboard Razz There is chance it may lose 2 weapons before exploding.

thanks for the input guys, I now magnetized the gunner and both guns on the first out of my two Venoms. It looks great and is very practical for gaming. Only issue is that it is hard to connect the gunner to the cannon as it is impossible to stretch the gunners arms enough to get the cannon into a horizontal (i.e. not tilted) position.

Pics will appear soon-ish in my paintin blog along with some WIPs of my HQ for the Archon's Challenge.

I did not attached the gunner - i wanted to make sure I could fit a model from the unit on the back of it.

I have had a venom take 2 weapon destroyed and an immobilised result over 2 turns from a psyrifleman so i was very happy i magnetised!

I had initially wanted to magnetize the gunner and undermounted weapons, but after a GT and the fiddiliness of it, I went ahead and just glued my down and will be making weapon destroyed markers instead.

Since I know, at least in this edition I won't be doing anything other than the double splinter cannons, I'm not worried about it. I might magnetize the lower cannon, but probably won't.
