| i had a buddy blow up on me this week. he didn't take the last slaughter of his tau too well. he asked me all sorts of questions about how skimmers/fast are supposed to be allowed to move and shoot and whatnot.
my question is this is there a place were i could show him by name and number the movements of the game?. maybe some1 could point me to a quick reference i could pass on to him? just need to show him what movement is named what and how far is it. (i.e: turbo-36'') i would appreciate it.

| Pages 57-58 and 70 in the Rulebook, plus 45-47 in the Codex should be all you need - For DE, you simply need to know that you can move up to 12" (Cruising Speed) and fire everything (Raiders only have 1 "primary" weapon, Venoms only have Defensive Weapons (Poisoned weapons are always Defensive due to no S value), and Ravagers, Voidravens and Razorwings have rules that allow them to fire everything when moving at Cruising Speed
TL;DR: All DE vehicles can shoot everything when moving up to 12", you can Flat Out up to 24" (Razorwings and Voidravens can go up to 36") and not fire anything

6 inches. Silly IMHO, as you can move 12 inches, disembark 2 inches from hull and then shoot, but under current rules passengers can only shoot if the vehicle has moved 6 inches or less, regardless of being open topped or not. As far as the vehicles themselves shooting, Keranas is absolutely correct.

| Remind him that our troops and vehicles have terrible armor. If we were lightly armored and slow with no firepower, what would be the point of playing Dark Eldar? | |

| As to summerize everyone's post here into one, lets go over it.
DE Vehicles movement:
Stationary: Shoot all weapons up to 6": Shoot all weapons; Infantry may shoot assault and rapid fire weapons as if they moved 6"-12": Vehicle may shoot 1 weapon, unless it has Airial Assault rule or weapons are defensive*; Infantry may get out and shoot assault and rapid fire weapons as if they moved Over 12": Vehicle can not shoot
*poison weapons are considered defensive because they have no strength value

| Remember that splinter rifles are Rapid Fire, so if passengers are armed with them, they can't shoot at all if the vehicle moves unless that movement takes them within 12" of their target. If the vehicle moved more than 6" but less than or equal to 12" then they would also have to bail out to shoot (yet again assuming their target is within 12"). | |
