First try at a WWP army. I'm a big fan of beasts and hellions, so this seemed like a natural fit. I'm nervous about not having my Ravagers, but with 2 WWPs, hopefully I'll be able to get where I need to be.

Obviously the haemmies start with the wyches. Baron will most likely be in the larger of the 2 hellion units, but he's willing to hop around to help where he's needed.

My main opponents are Death Guard and jump pack BAs.

you could lose a few and still be effective either way I'd get enhanced aether sails on one or both raiders to help deployment of second WWP

I'd swap the PGL over to this unit and run the Baron with the other YMMV

You are lacking in long range anti-tank this may be a problem but only trying the list out will tell.

I started off using WWP lists here are some tips;

Always get a least one WWP down first turn.
Remember that you can bring in any of your reserved non vehicle units from the WWP or your board edge.
Surround enemy transports if possible as it take them out of the fight (read the rules for wrecked-transports smile and go about your day).

Thanks for the advice, I try a few games and see how it plays. Looks like I'm on the right track at least, no major changes.

The two main things I'm still considering are:

1) Taking Warriors over Wyches so I have a midfield shooting pressence. Having a 9 man Warrior unit, possibly with FNP, in cover sounds nice to me. I may even try one unit of each to see wyche (see what I did there?) unit performs better.

2) Heat lances over Haywire Blasters on my Taloi. I don't like the short range on a slow model... but coming out of the WWP, there shouldn't be any issues.

Each type has it's own advanatges and you right that trying both is your best option to see which suits your own playstyle. If going for warriors 5 w/blaster is 60pts gives you some anti-tank and doesn't break the bank.

Heat Lances kill tanks haywires stun and make it easier for you to assault (or hide behind them) assaulting is going to be your best way of killing tanks with them. You could consider trading one in for a ravager to sit at the back and give you some long range threat.
