| I'm putting together a couple of Falcons for my Corsairs (next project) and was wondering what you guys use for your second heavy weapon. I never used Falcons when I played my CWE, assume that you would want to take advantage of the 48" range of the Pulse Laser. My thinking originally was to just take the SC to keep the cost down, but it seems that the Eldar Missile Launcher would be better to keep that Falcon viable at range if it loses the PL, or to add a second weapon that can fire at range if it only moves 6". Any tips/comments? | |

| the 3 best choices are the surri cannon, scatter or EML. All three have their bonuses (first being cheap, second being anti everything, last being best against tanks) so personally I would say magnitize, magnititze, and magnitize I always just throw the surri cannon on, and then once the list is complete, see if I have any free points to upgrade them to something better. | |

| I tend to stick to the EML myself for the versatility and synergy with the main weapon | |

I was thinking of magnetizing, but it really is a two-part magnet situation that looks like a pain in the rear. I can see the strategy of upgrading it if you have the points...but I'm kinda lazy and might just go with the EML. I'll take a look at it again to see what kind of a hassle it would be to magnetize the weapons AND the fairing thingy that attaches to the outside of the weapon.

| I've got to admit - I'm all about the Scatter Laser - I think the EML is a joke. A single shot at BS 3 is not a good thing compared to 4 Str 6 shots for less points. | |

Does your thinking change if it is for a Corsair list(BS4)? I am quite a sucker for the SL, but I was thinking of trying to take advantage of the PL's. 48"range.

| You could certainly try to do that - my counter is this;
How much of the rest of your army will be able to use 48" range? (answer - not much)
Now, consider, of all the things in your army what is one of the single toughest to destroy, and thus one you want the enemy to shoot at? (answer: Falcon)
Yes, you can do it, yes, it will make the Falcon (even more) hard to kill. But I don't see a desperate need to have a Falcon cowering in the rear of an Eldar formation, personally. I'll add the caveat that this is all said with me never really analyzing the Corsair list - but my recollection of it is it's basically eldar with a few new toys, a Venom with eldar weapons on it, and a few DE options. Overall it remains a 36" shooting range/fragile army. Just keep that in mind as you plan to protect your Falcons.
