| So, we've all seen the Talos/Cronos, Venom, Scourges and Razorwing Jetfighter - but what do you think of them?
Talos - I'm still not overkeen on it, it's nice but not what I was expecting. I think I preferred the old scorpion look. I find it rather expensive for its size too.
Venom. At first I found it underwhelming, then I realised they'd simply delivered the Venom, no questions asked. Would have liked more extras.
Scourges - Awesome, awesome in every way. And the first Venom Blade for our Duke Sliscus fans. Very happy with them though not a fan of the bat wings.
Razorwing - Best thing is the price, either way I like it.

| Perhaps I am a fanboy but I think the 3rd wave of Dark Eldar is the best overall release we have seen with the exception of the first wave of DE.
Jes Goodwin has done it again. I am restructuring my army list as we speak just so my army is the prettiest going around.
The talos/cronos was a bit of a shock at 1st but the more I look at it the more I drool. I would like to see some size camparisons though. I have no idea how big it is. I'm hoping it's not too big.
Scourges as birdmen worried me. Sure they sound like pretty kick arse postmen but I was concerned with how they would fit in with the rest of my army. I love the fact that they haven't changes the overall warrior but just added a few beautiful details. From fluff to model nothing is lost, they still have those beaky helmets and elonged limbs, with the wings standingout. I can't wait to paint these but I think I will swap out the bat wings for the fantastic feathers.
The only thing that is annoying but by no means suprising is not having 2 of every weapon type. I am greatful however that we atleast get one of every type.
Battleforce is great value. Not something I need at this stage but helps those that didn't spend up in November.
The Venom is exactly what I thought it would be. I thought it would be great.
The Razorwing. Hmmm so far everyone I have spoken to loves this model. I withhold comment untill I get a better look. It is something I want to love so I can collect a small air fleet but I just don't know yet. More pictures will assist.
Overall fantastic wave. Shame about the lack of Heamo units but I understand the issues with metal have set this back as well as the voidraven.
keep up the great work. | |

| The only real complaints I have is the fact that the Talos and Cronos arms are different pieces, rather than interchangeable at the "wrist". Other than that, they're pretty damn awesome. Also, I'm tempted to use one set of Scourge legs to convert up a pain token of a wych performing a jumping/spinning knife slash against a Guardsman. | |

| I agree with DS, overall this latest wave is every bit as fantastic as the earlier ones and I would like to congratulate and thank GW for their excellent work.
1) the Battleforce is indeed excellent value and will be a great starter kit for many others joining the Kin, and probably a great source of bitz for many of us who already do not need it, per se.
2) the Talos/Chronos is not at all what I expected, either, nor what I hoped for. It is still a great kit, however, with seemingly many new bitz to use elsewhere regardless of what you build. I do much prefer the look of the Chronos, but I'm not sure still if that's what i would field, given a choice.
2) Venom - beautiful model and an absolutely great kit, with some nice variations on the Wyches as passengers, and some new skulls to add to my objective markers and pain tokens.
The pintle-mount for the 2nd cannon is a nice touch and might add some flexibility to it's field of fire. I thought that GW might actually use WD to legitimize the vehicle's use with CW now that it actually exists, and in turn provide a kit that could be customized for either CW or DE. Think of how many they would sell!
Given that they didn't go this route, I personally would prefer it to have a bit more of a DE look and feel to it, especially given the time and effort that has been put into the new DE range as a whole. To this end, I will be attempting to graft a Reaver front-end onto each one, if I can blend them smoothly enough.
3) The Razorwing is equally a nice bit of kit, although the straight fuselage spine is reminiscent of a Tupelov Tu-26 Backfire and a little uninspiring. To fit with the more reckless theme of the DE cousins, I will be fitting mine with half-open cockpit canopies a la Venom.
4) the Scourges are exactly what I expected from the Codex pic and fluff, they too are great models and are very similar to what I have already made using 'Nid Gargoyle wings. I knew that they would have overhand weapon handles on some of the heavy weapons, but for simplicity I used something more akin to the new FW Shadow Spectres.
I am not a fan at all of the bird-theme in the new codex with the Razorwing flock or the Scourges. I much prefer the bat-like wings which fit more with the fluff element of making stuff out of the skins of various victims, and the biggest (and really only) genuine complaint that I have about these releases is the lack of 2 complete sets of wings to choose from with the Scourges. I'm not sold on the heads and helmets, either, but that's an easy fix.

| Talos/Chronos - ugly, the original is so much better. And fits there profile of what it is better. This sculpt makes it look like a super-sized wrack and that's not what they are.
Scourges - these are pretty sweet with the exception of the fact that it comes with 3 bird wings and 2 bat wings in each box (and not 5 of each), the bird ones look better and fit the fluff better (as well as the pic in the codex).
Venom - it stuck to the codex pic pretty well but I would have rathered a miniature raider build though.
Razorwing - Very nice looking kit, fits the codex pic very well, and doesn't look too much like the FW Eldar Nightwing fighter.

| Went into my local GW at chadstone SC in victoria. These boys are already half finished painting their black box content. On closer inspection I love the scourges even more!
They chose the talos (I'll have a cronos thanks) and I got a really good look at it. The size is great and the model is fantastic. The old model was the best in the previous range along with maybe the incubi, so I can understand how people feel about this new direction. The more I see it though the more I appreciate it. I have a funny feeling that once we see the rest of the Heamo release it will fit in more-so but for now look at it without comparing it to the old style and enjoy this weird and wonderful floating death.

| This wave finally sold me on doing DE. The Talos/Cronos is completely wicked in every way. I'm a collector so I'm sure I'll have atleast one of everything DE, but I have to say, I'm hoping the grotesques and wracks come out nicely because I'd love to do a Horm themed army. | |

| I drool over the Scourges and Razorwings. However, I was never very interested in the Haemonculi Coven-theme, so I am not buying the talos, thanks you very much. Though I does look great. The Venom is good, might buy one or two | |

| The main thing that annoys me about this latest wave - is that it is going to really hurt my bank balance.
The Venom - At first I wasn't too fussed. But the more I look, the more I like. Especially the revolving pic on GW website. Its actually sleeker than I thought. Reminds me of a futuristic chariot, and really gives me a good image of a few charging across the battlefield. I intend to get 1 straight away maybe 2.
The Scorges - I think they look good. I think they will probably look even better in my hand. I will be getting a box of these.
The fighter - Looks nice. Not a wow from me, but I look forward to using something new. I will get 1 of these eventually.
Talos - I really like it. I like the new direction and I like the difference in style to the rest of the army. A nice show piece to really go to town on. For now I will get one (cronos) and continue to use my 2 metal ones as talos.
Battle force - A really good purchase. Even though I have them all - I am tempted. You can never have enough raiders afterall, lol.

Thats the thing I love about GW most is they still have a no quibbles if it's in the shrink wrap you can exchange it policy. So one trip to my 'unfinished project' cupboard and a walk to my local GW got me 6 Venoms and 2 Talos/chronos for £8.

| I love 'em. All of them. While I am integrating my old DE with the new and they really aren't that bad a fit, I'm certainly more attracted to the newer models and in particular the Razorwing Fighter and Venoms. The Scourges are MUCH better in my opinion. The Talos and Cronos took some getting used to; they reminded me of something out of matrix or something. I'd say I dislike what it will cost me but since it's pain I can't really say I don't like it. Hekate | |

| The Venom - It's ok, I guess…
The Scorges - Look great, unfortunately gamewise I don't like them so I probably won't be getting any of these *sigh*
Talos - amazing, simply amazing, I didn't like the old models and this fits the picture in my mind much better
Battle force - A really good purchase not buying because I already have all the wyches I could want (30) and I don't like reavers, but all the same a really good purchase

| Nice Models, but the only ones I can see myself buying are the Scourges, at the moment.
Scourges are the only one I don't have a problem with. I'm going to find a use for that Venom Blade somehow...
Venoms I would love, except for the fact that I hate Wyches. Their rules are good, gameplay wise they are good, but I despise Wych aesthetics and fluff. If I could, I would say the Venom is remote controlled, and run it without anyone on it. However, the emptyness would bother me above anyone else and I would have to work very hard on a conversion...
I never was a big coven fan to begin with. One of the primary reasons I wanted to play Dark Eldar was because I wanted an army that was dramatically different than my first army, Tyranids. The Talos and Cronos just make me want to bring a Trygon instead. That or a Flyrant.
The Razorwing Jetfighter I would like, but I'm still working on my second Ravager. Once that guy is done, I'm going to try a Jetfighter, but I have no idea what will happen. I'm planning on proxying it next game I play.

| Scourges: OMG... I'm in love. Not only do they have massive conversion potential, but I love the base models. Not to mention YAY for splinter carbines.
Venom: I've been waiting for this. I didn't want to spend $60 for conversion for one model.
Talos/Cronos: I'm gonna have to disagree with some of you. I liked the old model, but it was clunky looking and I thought the pilot was ridiculous. I love the Talos model, couldn't really care for the Cronos, but huzzah for extra conversion bits.
Razorwing: HELL YES! *happy dance* Enough said.
This without a doubt is the best model series ever released by GW.

| I have some stufffrom the black box to put together, havn't gotten to the scourges yet, but the venom is easy to put together, managed to do it at midnight with no hassles, granted I need to put together the gunner, but apart from that....
It's a simple kit, but that's all it needs IMHO

You could just use the crew from a raider instead, or simply swap some of the arms, heads etc with warrior ones. It shouldn't be too hard to show warriors are riding in it. I have to say I love this release, we really do have the best range of models. I will be buying a talos asap, I love it. My local store made one up and I think it is the perfect size. It isn't over the top in size but the flying base makes it really imposing. The scourges are also amazing. I wasn't sold on the bat wings but when I saw them in store they looked just as good as the feather wings. The venom is exacvtly what I expected. Both that and the razorwing look nice and sleek. If only I had a bit more cash :p

| How can the Wracks looks so amazingly awesome and the Grotesques so amazingly stupid?
I mean even the detailing in the Grotesques would be fine if it was just posed differently and didn't have doofy sasquatch feet!
Basically I'm pre-ordering and Building everything from the 2nd wave except the scourges and the Grotesques. I even like the Haemonculus despite the fact that he's trying to hug you.
I have some Plastic Rat Ogres that I plan to splice with some Talos leftover parts (Helmets / vials) and some greenstuff to make better looking more imposing and less expensive grotesques.

I dont ever write a list with them in, so now they look rubbish too, there's no need to find the money required to buy them. In fact I'd go so far as thanking GW for making them rubbish, and saving my money.
