Suggestion for Lower Workshop sub-forum. Duels.

Hi Commorites. I want to share with you a tradition we have on our national forum and ask an opinion will it be implemented and supported here.

It is a tradition of Duels of painters.

Now what is a duel - a duel is a thread on forum where challenger sets a theme of a duel and then with his rivals he sets a date by which they will both complete miniature/squad/vehicle/diorame and post picture of it on the forum. After they both posted, in the thread added poll for visitors to vote for one or another. After set amount of time the victor is determined.

It does not nessasary have to be battle of 2 painters, maybe more, such things are talked about in the challenge thread.

Now why is it good, we have Archon's Challenge and all that.
Well - reason first - the more the merrier.
Reason two - it helps people to paint their stuff faster and add a bit of a feedback and timeframe.
Three - it allows to chose what you want to paint together with some other people right now, some for example want to do HQ's , but there is no event regarding them on the forum etc...
Four - it brings us all together cause we have to know each other when we agree on duel and later we will learn from each other.

So i guess that very positive thing.

Now technically i'd like it to be separate sub-forum in the Lower Workshop, cause it doesnt fit in the current sub-forums.
There must also be 2 types of threads.

First thread.
Challenge - Talos , estimate 3 weeks.

And second after everything been set.
Duel - Talos , 20.04.12

So - what do you guys think?

Sounds like a pretty solid idea. Id love to paint battle some people!

I took part in Da Waaagh "Mek Bashes" (including making multiple Battlewagons in teams).


Idea was roughly the same, tho it didn't turned out well
Probably because Ork like to slap random junk and spill paint on that.

I think it may work in this case.

I've got a Talos that needs some paint....and I do love a great scrap

So, any comments from admins?

Waiting to see if there is more interest before deciding if implementing this would be a good plan.
