1500 Pts, 2 Incubi units

Hi guys,

First of all I have to say that I am new to this forum, and quite new to DE (just started a few months ago). I have been plaing Nids for over 10 years, but the new DE models where so awesome I just had to get them I have only had a few games with DE, but have won most of them. It is verry different from playing Nids, but also incredible rewarding winning with such a fragile army

Okay, on to my lists.

I really love the Incubi models, and they have always done really well in my previous games so I figured I wanted to try 2 units in a 1500 pts list. I came up with 2 different lists, but I dont know which one to choose, hope you guys with some more experience could helpe with this

Why not murderous onslaught for your incubi? With smaller squads like that I add that, it's definitely worth its weight in gold. It can make up for itself against a larger squad, say space Marines.

If I had to choose a list that I liked better, I would go with list 2. I'm not a fan of wracks, they don't fit my play style or the fluff of my army. Drop the haywire grenades on the wyches in list 2, you have 3 ravages for your heavies they will take care of the armor you need to worry about. You also have 3 raiders, armor is not going to be a problem for 1500 all comers list.

My thoughts are I like list 1 better, but

I would drop the wracks out right.

Take the points from that unit, add 2 more haemiis and give them all LGs.

Then, put a haemi in each of the incubi units and the 3rd in the unit with wyches.

incubi with FNP is quite scary and devastating.

I might also consider droping the size of your wyches down a little and dropping the shardnet and see ig you can fit another small unit of wyches, maybe 5 in a venom. Its a little wierd but the second unit adds another agonizer and if they run together could add a lot of punch in assaults.

While I like the idea of Incubi in theory, I'm just so adverse to paying 22 points for a platform that's inferior to one that other armies can take for 15, and have a better weapon to boot. Their extra initiative is moot, since they don't have assault grenades. I would take them only if they had a invul save as well... its the only way to justify their point cost...

Pt Comparison...

10 man SM squad
10 3+ armor saves, 1cc attack each, flamer, lascannon, Standard assault grenades, and power fist on sergeant - 205 pts

10 man Incubi squad
10 3+ armor saves, 2cc pw attacks each - lower stat line, no ranged weapons, no assault grenades, no sergeant - 220 pts

While yes, the Incubi will probably win this fight, they're going to lose 2 -3 guys in the initial assault, since the marines are going to hit them first, because they have no assault grenades...

God forbid you make the mistake of running incubi into a termie squad...

I dont have Onslaught because i think the unit is expensive enough as it is, I can deal with paying for the Klaviex because of the extra Ld. I am not sure if he is worth it, but I belive 52 pts for a model without inv save is a bit too much.

Also I have heard a lot of good stuff about the wracks, seems good for stealing objectives with 2 LG and 30 poison attacks.

For the Haywire Grenades, I would like to have them against walkers. I have had good experiense vs dreds before, and it would really suck to have my wyches assulted by a walker without a chance to hurt it.

Yes, the Incubi are insane with FnP! But I think having 3 extra killpoints running around hardly doing anything is kind of bad.

I know they are waaaay to expensive for what they should be, but I really love the models, and they are the only full unit with pw attacks in the codex.
