1500 Dark Eldar/Eldar team fight against 1500 Nurgle

Hey folks! I played my first full game of Warhammer 40k in over 12 years. And to cut to the chase:

Dark Eldar/ eldar won over Papa Nurgle!

My friend and I fielded 750 points apiece and teamed up to take on a veteran Nurgle player. Were both returning to the game and had smaller forces to work with.



Dark Eldar (Me) 750 points

Haemmy with WWP and four Grots (one ab with a scissor)
2 venoms with cannons and a blaster guy
3 reavers with caltrops and heat lance
I talos with ichor injector


My friends eldar:
Basically whatever comes in the collectors set plus striking scorpions and a farseer. He took a bright lance on the transport, and a rocket launcher with the guardians, plus a scat laser om the two man bike.


Nurgle 1500 points

Typhus in a 30 man horde of zombies
Demon prince
Helldrake
Rhino with plague marines
3 man devistator squad

Mission: Maelstrom mission of some sort; we deployed on the short ends of the table and drew three cards a turn keeping our objectives secret.


We got lucky with the card draws and kept getting objectives I could zip over to. Mass poison fire eventually killed the daemon prince. and devistators Typhus destroyed my entire HQ and grot units by himself in one turn after getting the psychic power off that made all his attacks killing blows. He also killed my reavers after they failed to penetrate a rhino with their heat lance and then failed a 4 inch charge The Helldrake ran wild but spent most of its time frying my eldar buddy. In the end we won 10-2 though mostly by keeping our distance.

Manouverability is one of the things our Codex does have in spades!

Coming up against someone that tries to wipe you, not win, is usually a guaranteed victory if you play smart.

I'm slightly confused by your list though, did the Grots have a Raider?

If so, aren't you over limit?

If you didn't take a Raider (as you didn't list it) why not lol & you'd be 708, so 42 under?

Good question! I didn't have a raider painted up so I used a WWP but no raider
