The list is being tailored against Marines, Grey Knights, Eldar, Tau, and IG. These will be my opponents in my league. However, I would definitely like to keep it as "All comer" as possible.
I mostly just don't care for the Haemon lore/fluff, and I would love to find a way to justify not taking them if I can do so. However, in light of the fact that they can offer wyches their initial pain token, they are stupendously cheap, and can wargear some very useful and interesting choices, I can't find a way around using them.
I'd ideally like to find a set up that avoids all Coven units, but I just don't think I can offer a semi-competitive list without taking them. (By semi-competitive, I mean that I'll have a 50/50 or better chance to win against a player in a league, not tournament quality.)
This is part of the reason I'm drifting to using Scourges as my AT/Lock down until I can get wyches into the midst of tanks (Yet another reason why the Haemons come out on top, my first kills for most of my wyches are usually some sort of transport or tank. Rarely do they get their first kill from infantry. )
I don't want to purchase a third Ravager, so I will be likely using a Razorwing instead. I'm thinking I may be hurting myself heavily by taking a choice like that, but I think I can make my list work with a set up like follows:
HQ:
Archon + PGL + SF (Maybe Drugs or a PW or Huskblade as well? Huskblades would help deal with the big goodie goodie guys.)
Haemons x 3 (Either un-geared, or potentially with more?)
pts: 265
Troops
Wyches x 7
+HWG
+Shardnet
+Raider w/FF
Wyches x 7
+HWG
+Shardnet
+Raider w/FF
Wyches x 7
+HWG
+Shardnet
+Raider w/FF
Pts: 504
FA:
5 Scourges
+ 2 HWB
(I'm guessing a Solarite is useless for the most part.)
pts: 130
HS:
2 Ravagers w/FF
pts: 230
Elite:
4 Incubi
w/ Venom + SC (Archon Transport)
153
3 TB Blasterborn
w/ Venom + SC
pts: 299
Total: 1428
This is giving me 9 Lances, 3 Blasters, 2 HWBs, a CC HQ that can wipe out what wyches tarpit, Haemons for inital pain tokens.
I'm probably in need of more AT (I can stick more blasterborn in the boat for an upward of 14 Dark light weapons.) or find a way to work in more wyches (Only 3 scoring troops is problematic to some extent.)
However, the goal is to destroy everything, and forgo objectives on the whole. I don't really enjoy the mentality of guarding objectives as a DE, and I would almost rather lose than be forced to camp an objective with a troop. (And frankly. I'll be more likely to take 5 unequipped wyches or warriors as objective holders if that's an absolute must.)
