I vaguely remember seeing a thread about this awhile back but can't find it now. So, was wondering about input for your thoughts on order of effects if a model has FnP and fails its save against a wound inflicted by a hexrifle. INAT addresses it but in a way that, to me, seems contradictory to the ruling just before it. Only wondering because I am drafting up a list to start play testing for Feast of Blades and have noticed a rise in GK IC's not being put in units in local meta and some bat reps online, so I figure it would be worth a shot to take a couple on haemy's to deny kp's and make wracks a troop choice.

FNP ignores an injury but it does not negate the remainder of the Hexrifle rules, so you could concievably make a FNP roll to ignore the wound but still fail the subsequent Wounds test and be removed anyway. You could also argue that the Hexrifle is a weapon that inflicts Instant Death and therefore ignores FNP entirely, although the fact the ID requires a further test after rolling to wound implys that this is not the intent.

The hex rifle DOES NOT cause ID... it removes from play which is very different in 5th ed.

This is the best summary of the rules i have found.

Basically, both rules are triggered and its possible to be removed from play while still passing FNP... which while strange, makes sense

My bad. You're quite right.
