What do you think of this fluff for my army?

Okay I have thought of some fluff for my Dark Eldar army and i wanted to hear what you think.

I based the fluff around a single line from a particular book by Harland Ellison, the line is "I have no mouth and I must scream"

So I called my army the Silent Scream.

These Dark Eldars are known as the Silent Scream because of what they do to their victims.

When they capture their victims and bring them back to the city of Commorragh they fuse their mouth together (they have nothing but skin where the mouth used to be) and remove their vocal cords.
Then they give their captives this message all you have to do to stop the torture is to scream.
The moment you scream we will release you and bring you back to the world we captured you on, but as long as you don´t scream we will continue our torture.

So far none of their victims have managed to scream even for millisecond and The Silent Scream have continued their hunt for new victims each time giving their victims the same option: Scream and the pain ends.

Well i wanted to hear what you think of it, is it something the Dark Eldar would do or is it a bit to much of a chaos thing to do??

I like it. It is interesting and shows the sadistic nature of the DEldar, as they torture both the physical body and the mind.
I'd like to hear more about them.

I like to do free hand art so i think instead of a rune i will use this mark (minus the circuits.)

I don´t quite know which colors they have used but i think that if i use (i have always used citadel colors so i´ll use the old color names) Shadow Grey for the main color and then highligted up to Space Wolf Grey.

For the shadows they might have used Chaos Black and then a small red gore or scab red glaze.

The latter part (red glaze) should only be used in the really big marks such as on the Troop Transports and Heavy Support i think a Dark Eldar chestplate is simply too small for it to be seen.

That'll look awesome. You could always use a tiny bit of blue in with the grey, to make it contrast with the red but also to make it look more cold and unforgiving. Not an overwhelming or silly amount of blue though.

I think i might also try and drop a spot of skull white as the final highlight.

So, is your army going to be heavily Kabalite themed, or is it going to have aspects of Coven and Cult?

I actually don´t know yet to be honest, i´m split between a webway portal build and a Humoncules coven build don´t know which is best for players who haven´t played the Dark Eldar before.

As for the army itself it will be painted entirely in cold colors (my previous army which i am currently trying to get done, is painted in warm colors).

I think Vallejo might have the closets range of colors that match them.

Really like the concept for the fluff, and totally agree with Cavash's comment about showing the DE torturing the mind and the body.

The Kabal of The Silent Scream is led by Lord Silentium.

The Dark Eldar who would later become Lord Silentium wasn´t born a noble nor even in the towers of the nobility but in the slums of Commorragh.

Whom his parents was Silentium can´t remember, nor does he really care, as far as he is concerned he has always lived in the slums fending for himself.
Who originally gave Lord Silentium his name and if he had a name before it is lost in blood of the slums, yet the reason for the name isn´t.
For as long as anyone has known Lord Silentium he has always had one handicap that set him apart from most Lords, his hearing or rather the lack of it.
Lord Silentium lives in a world of silence how he lost his hearing or if he was born without one is as lost in time as the giving of his name.

The lack of hearing means that Lord Silentium doesn´t call those he tortures his victims or toys, but rather his "guests" and as his guests they are free to leave his house whenever they please, all they need to do is say so in front of Lord Silentium.
However as his guests Lord Silentium requires that they follow his house rules and since he can´t enjoy their screams of pain, he sees no reason as to why they need bother with such things.
So it is that he has ordered his Haemonculi to remove the vocal cords and fuse the mouth shut of all his guests before they enter his house.

Once they have entered he has a simple rule, if you wish to leave my house all you need to do is say so and we will escort you back to your home.
Those who say nothing must therefore wish to remain his guests and will be treated to his full hospitality in the form of the the most excruciating and agonizing torture his Humonculi can offer.


Though a Lord; Silentium has no desire of elevating his house above the slums as that would undoubtedly make the Noble Houses and Lord Vect take notice of him, something Lord Silentium would rather be without.
Having seen enough of remains in the slums of failed Coup d'État to know that the slums is where he belongs, but as long as he remains lord of his house and new Guests keep arriving he is perfectly fine with that.

The mark of the silent scream is a face in agony with no mouth, desperately trying to scream.
They have no mouth and they must scream.

Well that´s the fluff so far tell me what you think of it and suggestion on how to improve on it.

Sounds good. Yes I would stick with Kabal instead of Cult, as Cult is reserved for wych lords and those that run arenas. You could always go with "Gang" as a hellion "lord" would call his group, but Kabal is the safest bet. Also you could go all the groups, and just write up fluff as to why this Lord Silentium would sponser the other facets of DE society
