Moving underneath skimmers

I have a quick question. How close to one of a vehicles can an enemy get and not be assualting it. In general they have to be one inch away from the model's base or from the model's hull? And also can enemy units move under our unit.

The other day, I thought I was being clever and tried to block my oppoenent from moving to within 3 inches of an objective but putting my Raider in the way. My opponent simply ended his movement underneath the raider but one inch from the plastic stand. It just looked funny because he 3 models under my ship. This was legal right?

Nope. You must remain 1 inch from the hull

The only models other models can be underneath are fliers. Although they still have to stay one inch away from its base.

This rule doesn't work for other models on flying stands, be they skimmers, jetbikes or monstrous creatures. Those are always measured from the actual model and the stand is ignored.

Thanks for the quick replies. What about in terms of moving under a skimmer but not ending the move under it.

Can my units move through it to the other side?
Can my enemies units move through it to the other side?

Nope as you would come within 1 inch of the hull.

Wait, so just to clarify, not only can you not end your move within one inch of an enemy unit, but you must also stay at least one inch away from enemy models during the movement?

Yes, that's right. You have to stay away at least one inch of any enemy units at all times, except for assault moves.
