If you found a random story on a shelf with no idea about the content other than it may contain copious amounts of Mandrakes, which title would seem most fitting? Or, on the other hand, which would make you think that it had Madrakes in it? Or, even, which seems the most interesting?

I incline to agree. Dream of Shadows would be the most fitting. Encounters with beings that bend reality around them are hard to describe without "dreamlike".
