Help against Tau

Tlronin- Don't really see it as a contradiction, I say get close cause our firepower is more short range than theirs, so you are 100% right in the sense that we cannot out shoot them...IF we are too far away. Get within carbine/rapid fire distance and they will start dropping like flies. Obviously sitting on the other side of the table and trying to out shoot them is suicide =) . Poison does just fine for me when I shoot fire warriors with it, given their low LD they will usually run after being forced to take 2 tests. Nor did I say "Never charge tau ever"....just "don't charge full squads of fire warriors" cause it hurts, especially if you're a bunch of half naked space elf girls lol. Yes, I take PGL's across the board now with wyches, problem is if you have them in cover its a more risky charge, than say you roll below average and it puts you out of charge? All I was saying was to not just give up on the shooting phase altogether(not saying that's what you meant either) because charging Tau isn't the automatic faceroll it used to be.

In 6th that is always a fear for our Wyches. But luckily we have Fleet.

I have always found Tau fire power to be the most powerful at the 12-18" range where they can rapid fire with plasma and pulse rifle, at least in my experience.

i dont usually care about suits tbh. If they are closer, than the FW, then i go at them, but first, i usually decimate his scoring options. If that is a two flank maneuver, then i start mowing down one flank, and will eventually get to the other, if i dont kill it with my flyers and liquifires first. The only thing i do shoot at is mostly broadsides, and if they are dead, then huzzah! i can shoot at other things.

Flank denial for me also means i can start my tactics of eating away one flank and getting to the other.
Best AS in tau? 2up broadsides. What do we have? Disintegrators. What AP value? Yep, you guessed it, 2. 3 raiders, 2 RWJF, thats 21 dissi shots a turn. Did i mention that i also have liquifires in the raiders? with an average roll, you will have an ap of 3-4, and most tau unites have AS of 4. Pen? You bet!

In conclusion, the only greatest loss i had to tau is a RWJF, a raider and its haem. In trade, i table him usually by turn 3-4.
