Hey Everyone I have recently started Dark Eldar for the new 6th Edition and have been lurking on this forum for a while and I was wondering if I could get some advice from some tactical genius.

When I have played my first few games with the new edition I wasn't sure how I should be moving my troops.

I wanted a fast army but paying 400 points on transports every game seems somewhat a waste even if they still have there uses.

Foot slogging seems to be a no no with all the nasty weapons daring to pierce my wyches T-shirts but is this viable to do with tougher units such as Incubus and Grotesques and even wracks?

Also how does everyone feel and about WWPs because in the 2 games I have used them I have failed miserably.

One final question, do people take a mix of raiders and venoms or should I stick with raiders as they seem to be more effective for the price?

Foot-slogging=death for most of our infantry(Wyches, even Kabalites if they are advancing and not hugging cover)

Paying 400+ points for transports is a good investment in my experience. You either get a S8 AP2 lance weapon, or 12 poisoned shots that wound anything with a toughness value on a 4+!!!. If you've had to face monstrous flyers, you'll know how valuable having 12 shots(good chance to ground them) really is. My two 5 man Kabalite units in Venoms were the backfield MVP's of two of the three games that I played in my last tournament. Either of our transport choices give you fast, reliable AI or AT that is very effective for the points cost.

I haven't used the WWP after not being able to assault out of it. I could see it being used effectively by Reavers and Scourges to get access to side/ armor shots in a hurry, or to deploy reserves closer to objectives.

Give the transports a good solid look. Remember to use their full range to shoot if you aren't certain that your troops should be bailing out close to the enemy. I find that cheap, well-armed, fast vehicles can really give your opponent fits if used correctly.

Transports are great, they are faster 30" move, get 5+/4+ cover save for moving, can provide cover and have a decent gun. If that was not good enough when they explode they leave you a nice piece of area terrain. They just keep giving (well at least in my experience). Smile

Shame the area terrain is a graveyard filled with the corpses of the dead (ex) passengers! Very Happy

Well my wyches have a cunning plan, you see when my raider explodes the archon lands first, and then proceeds to catch them all, when he can be bothered that is. Smile

When a vehicle explodes the hits are resolved as shooting, except that the controlling player can allocate the wounds, so If I'm feeling lucky I can tank all those hits on my archon's shadow field.
