1750pts Horrid Venom Spam

Hi guys

Got in a huff about our CC getting nerfed and decided to field venom spam for a few games to make myself feel better

The list 1750pts

1 Haemonculus w liquifier
3x5 wyches w haywires venom, extra cannon night shield
2x5 wracks w liquifier venom extra cannon night shield
3x3 trueborn venom extra cannon night shield
2 Ravagers night shield
1 razorwing fighter night shield
7 reavers

the rules changes have made this list a thing of horror

5+ cover and FNP make the venoms stupidly lethal vs GEQ
The same rule makes the lance weapons insane vs MEQ TEQ and vehicles.
People in my group are taking fewer vehicles and more infantry since you cant even assault out of stationary Rhino any more.
Focus fire means that i can target models out of cover as well. aIt can be very tough to hide whole guard blobs in cover without leaving them vulnerable to templates and the razorwing missiles.

The razorwing monoscythe missiles kill geq like smallpox.

The night shields have been AMAZING!
People forget they are there and position themselves to shoot just outside my threat bubble. They then find themselves out of range.

Having won 3 games with this im going to return to cc lists and see if i can make them work.

If you are struggling vs virtually anything give venom spam a try. Just point those little paper planes at the enemy and watch almost literally hose them down with toxic goo.

Haha very nice! I recently constructed an all warrior/raider, Duke, Venom blasterborn, reaver, ravager, razorwing army just for shiggles deep striking everything into rapid fire range. Only lost one venom to misshap table but could still put out 99 poison shots a turn, 14 lance shots, 6 disintergrator shots (18 in total) plus bladevanes and clustercaltrops from 12 reavers, monoscyth missiles and not to forget a few haemocules liquifiers for most turns.
Litterally turned my opponants "blob marine/ordinance" army into a quivering pile of mush. Were good friends and he made me promise that I would never use it against him ever again. Mission accomplished.

Im afraid we didn't pay that much attention to it (When I said recently it was over a month ago since I have now moved to Sweden for a year Razz

) I honestly couldn't give a decent battlerep BUT when I go home this christmas hopefully I will be able to have a few games and I will try the list again on some poor unsuspecting soul and will give a full battlerep if you like?

My first outing was against an infantry guard army. If we had been knocking models over instead of removing them, then a Full 1/3 of the table would have been covered in a continuous carpet of dead. It was actually quite close, venoms dont like being shot at by massed twin linked weapons teams!

My third outing was vs chaos space marines. There were 2 full units of bezerkers in Rhinos. In his turn they got out. In my turn they all fell over bar 3 guys who were asaulted by one of my wrack squads.

Haha nice, yeah dark eldar vehicles are less robust machines of war and more origami nuclear warheads (Mine always catastrophically explode 6" if they do as much as fly into a headwind!)

oh yes

Getting cc to work is going to be so much fun. It will be a challenge but i feel like I can afford to get crushed a few times before i get the hange of it all again.

I appreciate the invites guys but I haven't actually got any of my 40K with me! I had a very limited baggage allowence and could barely fit my laptop in let alone 3000 points of DE! Maybe one wednesday I might pop along just to see whats going on!

Sorry, Yeah you can, it comes automatically with flickerfields and you can upgrade it with Nightshields for 10 points
