Beasts or Court?

So, I've come across a reliable and quite cheap source of finecast models, all of the beasts and court of Archon models are available, but I've not used either type in any game. I figured to ask what might be a better choice, getting a bunch of beasts to run as a assault unit or some court models to back up my archon in combat. I've not seen anyone use the court models, I had to guess that is either because the models are points-wise too pricey or price-wise prohibitive. What are your thoughts?

Yeah pretty much 4 Beastmasters, 5 Khymera and 6 Razorwing Flocks is a solid, hard hitting unit. Much more durable than Wyches in combat now

There are several threads on the subject of beasts so you can probably find some pretty good information with a quick look through the tactics section.

I think to begin with 5 khymera(or substitutes) are a good starting point, they an invuln save to anything you are going to do, and with Str 4, they can put out a decent amount of damage themselves.

From there if you want a survivable unit, go klawfiend, if you want stabby killy-ness, go razorwing flocks.

I myself dont care for the clawed fiend. It does has its place in some builds and uses however, i just cant justify spending 40 points on one model and not being able to use its toughness 5... I run 3 beast-masters, 5 pups, and 6 razor-flocks. A bit more pricey than some would suggest, but this ensures a solid punch when they do arrive. If you do go with the beasts (which I highly recommend) be sure to stay in cover and position them strategically! Best of luck. As soon as my models arrive and are assembled, I'll run them and see how they do. Thanks for the tips!

I should mention that I ended up getting 5 Khymera and 4 Flocks, since I already had 1 Fiend. After reading some of the tactics using some interesting combos, mainly the Baron, I'm excited to see how well they do against my usual fights against GK or BA.

Excellent! Yeah should be a deadly combo. Put the Baron up front and "Look out sir" allllllllll day. Cant wait to hear the report

normally 5-10 Kymerae and 4 razorwings are best. clawed fiends I guess are kinda decent now with LoS if you put baron up in front, but other than that he is too expensive to be effective in a squad.
