I have an 1850 point tournament coming up and am planning on taking my DE. I've come up with 2 lists, both fairly similar and based on what I already own. I'm just looking for a bit of advice as to which would work better in a tournament environment. All advice and comments are welcome.
List 1:
MAIN DETACHMENT:
HQ:
Archon (blaster/ghostplate) 85
ELITES:
3 x Blasterborn in a Venom (dual SC, nightshields) 156
4 x Blasterborn in a Venom (dual SC, nightshields) 183
TROOPS:
10 x Kabalites (splinter cannon) in a Raider (disintigrator, FF, nightshields, splinter-racks) 190
10 x Kabalites (splinter cannon) in a Raider (disintigrator, FF, nightshields, splinter-racks) 190
5 x Kabalites (blaster) in a Venom (nightshields) 135
5 x Kabalites (blaster) in a Venom (nightshields) 135
FAST ATTACK:
3 x Reaver Bikes (heat lance) 78
HEAVY SUPPORT:
Ravager (FF, nightshields, 3 x DL) 125
Razorwing Fighter (FF, 2 x DL) 155
Razorwing Fighter (FF, 2 x DL) 155
ALLIES:
HQ:
Farseer on Jetbike (runes of warding, spirit stones, doom, fortune) 175
TROOPS:
4 x Guardian Jetbikes
Archon rides in one of the blasterborn venoms, farseer provides psychic defense and rolls with the GJBs providing rerolls on their saves, these then look to claim an objective final turn. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.
List 2:
HQ:
Archon (blaster/shadowfield) 105
ELITES:
3 x Blasterborn in a Venom (dual SC, nightshields) 156
4 x Blasterborn in a Venom (dual SC, nightshields) 183
TROOPS:
10 x Kabalites (splinter cannon) in a Raider (disintigrator, FF, nightshields, splinter-racks) 190
10 x Kabalites (splinter cannon) in a Raider (disintigrator, FF, nightshields, splinter-racks) 190
5 x Kabalites (blaster) in a Venom (nightshields) 135
5 x Kabalites (blaster) in a Venom (nightshields) 135
5 x Kabalites (blaster) in a Venom (nightshields) 135
FAST ATTACK:
3 x Reaver Bikes (heat lance, cluster caltrops) 98
3 x Reaver Bikes (cluster caltrops) 86
HEAVY SUPPORT:
Ravager (FF, nightshields, 3 x DL) 125
Razorwing Fighter (FF, 2 x DL) 155
Razorwing Fighter (FF, 2 x DL) 155
This variation drops the allies for a bit more shooting in terms of another venom, it also adds three more reavers and give both units caltrops, this then lets them bladevane infantry whilst zooming around the board, the intention being they deny the opponent objectives on the final turn.
I'd like people's viewpoints on both lists, to see what people think. I did have an idea to put in a Beastpack unit instead of the additional venom in the final list, sort of a CC threat but I'm not sure how effective those are at.
