| So just wondering. Roughly around how many models does everyone field at certain points? (for competitive and friendly lists) points include 1000, 1250, 1500 and 1750. Because I'm writing a 1500 list and iv got I think approx. 40ish models, not including vehicles. And I would just like to compare where I'm abouts | |

| This 1,500pt list I'm building towards will have 14 wyches, 9 reavers, 14 hellions (including the Baron), 3 wracks and Heamy, a farseer and 3 guardian jet bikes so 45 excluding the 5 vehicles. Hehe just realised with those it's 50 models and 1,500pts so that's one model per 30 points. A nice round number | |

| Sweet. So I'm not that far off from people thanks. Also for the people who uses reavers, do you guys have them in squad of 6's or 9's? | |

Also for the people who uses reavers, do you guys have them in squad of 6's or 9's? Kind of a trick question. A squad of six works completely differently to a squad of nine. Squad of sixA squad of six is a harasment unit that has the advantage of being easier to hide and appearing as less of a threat. It's less survivable and can be used as a sacrificial unit. You normally run heatlances on them as two blasters is just not effective enough. They probably won't survive until the end of the game, but if they do they can be used to contest objectives/get line breaker (though their squad size means they might get wiped out if the game does not end on said turn). The smaller units also have an easier time taking advantage of impassible terrain and/or tall ruins. Squad of nineThe main argument against squads of nine in 5th being that it was harder to get cover saves (this is now gone with jink). A squad of nine is however not a sacrificial unit! It is a multi-purpose tool that is used to sure up any holes in your battle plan. The extra numbers help justify the cost of an arena champion, make assault viable and increase the damage output of bladevanes (increasing your options). The extra special weapon makes them considerably more reliable against vehicles and open up blaster as a viable option (the advantage being range, and as a result increased survivability). The larger unit will also find it easier to get pain tokens, and is also more pain token efficient as more models are affected by a single token. The large squad has an easier time contesting/getting line breaker as it takes more effort to remove from the board. That being said larger squads tend to attract considerably more fire. Hope that helps. | |
