Arcon and Retinue display base

Ive been working on this quite a while now and I have added more to it as I have gone along.

The base is completely scratch built from foam and layered with PVA and flexible filler for cracks in walls.

I then painted it and dry brushed it then a wash of badab black and slight dry brush for highlights.

I have all my DE Miniatures ready to paint but I am just working on the base for now!

Hope you guys like it and please dont be afraid of leaving criticism good and bad its all constructive!

Just a few updated Pics I now have it on a wood trimmed base with a walkway around it which will be inhabited with 1 or 2 DE creatures.

This is a very impressive piece, and I really like your flags and banners, very well done!

Thanks very much Gobsmakked, it has been a labour of love and it only started out as the court yard for the Arcon retinue but now its almost an Armies on parade piece!! as it stands now it is 21 inches by 12.5 inches with the base!
and still remarkably lite!

as you may tell the flags are cocktail sticks, I drilled out the top so another stick would slide through giving extra strength, they are only 1 sided at the moment as i only intended for the model to be viewed from the front but now it will be a 360 degree viewer! will sort the flags out closer to completion.

Here are the latest Images still a long way to go yet. some Dry Brushing and washing then high lights for paving stones. and the doorway needs painting black as I intend to have an Ur-Ghul appearing from the bowls of Commorragh but only seeing part of his face and hands the rest as in shadow.

Arcons' Dais shared with the Lhamaean. the bubbling pipes of Toxic fluids are where the Lhamaean gets her poisons from.

Good heavens, that looks amazing! It's such a fantastic idea, I might have to steal it (and add it to my long list of ambitious modelling and painting ideas)!

Im currently making my own Drazhar as i have never liked the old model!

Hopefully he will turn out ok and take his place on the display! Will be posting pics of him shortly!!

Ok so here is an update for my Archon Retinue!

its been slow going but Ive converted my own Drazhar master of blades as I dont like the GW mini.

I have taken several different bits from Warriors, Wyches and the Archon and I have scratch built my own Klaives.

Im just in the middle of painting it almost done so will put a photo up of my Conversion soon!

First time I've stumbled across this thread. May I chuck my compliments on the growing pile? It looks awesome! Great attention to details with the arch and stonework, and the floor sigils and banners for your coven, kabal and cult are beautiful. Keep up the good work!

This is the first Mini painted but not finished, Drazhar Master of Blades, The blades are to follow!

Still have poison Vials to paint and Klaives to add but its a WIP and I thought I would put it on just to show progress!

oh I have 40 more minis to paint I have the flags to double side instead of just one! there is a scratch built gate to build for the rear passage way and Im planning some kind of Craft docked at the side (maybe) not to sure about it yet may just stick with the minis??!! and the base edging needs painting!

with my job i have very little time to paint so im looking at a couple more months in real time!!
