| Had an amazing - if a bit alcohol saturated - Throne of Skulls over the weekend. I enjoy TofS more than some of the more competitive events as the food, banter and setting is second to none. I'll stick up battle reports on this thread throughout the week as I get time (or all today if I can't be bothered studying!) Gaming wise went not bad too, and I took best DE player with 4-0-1. Unfortunately, for 5 games I only played against different forms of power armoured mon-keigh, with wins against Grey Knights, Blood Angels, Raven Guard, Black Templars and a loss in my last game to GK. At least we know that there will be plenty of mon-keigh elites in the arenas of Commorragh for a while to come! Congratulations again to my mate Scott who took the tournament win with his Sisters/Guard alliance, after losing almost all of his practice games before the tournament and was actually thinking of not going because he was thinking he'd get rocked in every game! Here is a link to my blog, where I'll be putting my Throne battle reports. Thanks for checking it out!! /http://annihilatedsouls.blogspot.co.uk/ Please use the edit button in future. Thanks. - Mush _________________ Death? You want death? I'm afraid that would be far too boring...

| Interesting reports and well done on your achievements. I'm going to the one in November, anything good and insightful you can tell me about the meta and what to expect? As far as the net saying nobodys taking vehicles anymore, well the two tournaments I went to recently were still swamped with mech. Many Necrons there? _________________ Sky Serpent - Drukhari 40k My Facebook blog, follow for battle reports, tactics, painting and conversions | |

| What was the terrain lay out like? How much LoS blocking terrain, area terrain etc. It looks pretty scarce from the pictures, compared to tournaments like NOVA. _________________ Latest Report: BR4: The Repugnant Ramblers Vs Imperial Knights - 1250pts Pragmatic Realspace Raider Series

| Game 2 vs Blood Angels http://annihilatedsouls.blogspot.co.uk/ Thanks Sky Serpent for the praise, appreciated but there was only 4 DE primary players at the event. Which I found hard to believe. Last year when won best CSM I played against Dark Eldar twice, and there was loads of them. As regards vehicles - I only encountered 6 the whole tournament - 4 Grey Knight pysflemen, a Templar LRC (with no blessed hull thankfully) and a Templar Typhoon speeder. However, there was a lot of vehicles, but in general compared to most TofS events I've attended a lot of players had opted for footsloggers. And yes, Necrons as far as the eye could see. Dunno how I avoided them, though did play a friend of a friend's Crons as a warm up game on the Friday night beforehand. Imotekh, 16 wraiths, 3 annihilation barges and a few small squads of Immortals. And I got rocked. He won all his games, but so did many crons players. There was only 2 croissant spam armies, and I don't think either of them won Necrons but I could be wrong. @ Mushkilla the first table I played on was possibly the worst for terrain, though I din't play with many big ruins on the tables - a lot of trees, which isn't great for LOS blocking obviously and that was a bit annoying. Though I discoverd quickly that one or two bastions can be utilised well if you have some nightshields. Compared to other tournaments I've been to its certainly slightly below what I'm used too, but by no means the worst BTW - I'd like to add Mushkilla that I've been inspired to possibly take a wych spam army to the GT next month using some jetbikes after reading a couple of your battle reports, in particular your stunning victory over the purifier/razor spam. As you can see from my games I've long been a fan of aethersail/nightshield raiders, but it would be refreshing to play with no venoms, ravagers or haemos I have to say Please use the edit button in future. | Thanks for the reply. Shame about the terrain, but I guess it's something that a player needs to adapt too. As for the buzzards list it still has growing pains, but I'm having a lot of fun, and leaning a lot about what works and what does't work with reavers. Once I get comfortable enough with the list I might look to trying out some tournaments, the UK throne of skulls in particular(money and time permitting). _________________ Latest Report: BR4: The Repugnant Ramblers Vs Imperial Knights - 1250pts Pragmatic Realspace Raider Series

| apologies not been on for a bit
@ Sky Serpent - it was never properly Swiss in any case - I've been to a few (though this was the first with my DE) and you only ever seemed to be matched with someone on similar results by game 3 of the first day, then on game 4 on Sunday, whereas with the final game you could be matched with your opponent based on how you'd done on the Saturday as a whole but not considering your previous game on the Sunday. Sorry made that more confusing than it had to be.
But yeah now they seemed to have abandoned that too. Some of the less experienced gamers within our group that went down felt that they'd rather not have to play some of the guys that are going for the awards - especially if they'd lost 2 or more games on the Saturday and I can see their point. Though just my luck, I played against two guys who had won 2 and drawn 1 on the Sunday so never really impacted me. _________________ Death? You want death? I'm afraid that would be far too boring...
