Coterie Of The Spilled Chalice

The Coterie was founded 247M41. A group of Mercenaries, that have been for hire and raiding since M35 come under new leadership. The leader known only as "The Youngest" takes power and uses the band's accumulated wealth to buy and rebuild a spire in Port Shard, right above a small Coven. They announced they are now a Kabal: The Kabal of the Spilled Chalice.

There were talks held between the Coven and Kabal, major doubts if this young Kabal could come to a peaceful arrangement, to ally with this coven. Just before open conflict was declared between these two factions, the coven was usurped from within. The new head Heamonculus, known as The Elder, makes a peaceful arrangement with Kabal of Spilled Chalice. In a show of peace and unity the Coven changes it's name to Coven of the Spilled Chalice.

306M41: As these two factions work together they prosper. Together they start financing a small Cult helping it grow, and build an arena at the top of the spire. As the Cult grows It's Succubus known as The Sister formally announces it's tie to the Kabal and Coven. Together they are known as the Coterie of the Spilled Chalice.

405M41: The Cult starts joining the Kabal on raids and launching a few on their own.

990M41: The Cult in a daring space raid capture a pirate fleet with many slaves on board. This adds another facet to the Coterie's power-base, Space Raiding. These slaves are not sold on market or seen in the arenas.

996M41: The Coven suffered a small hit to its research when most of their subjects were accidentally released. This caused The Kabal to launch a daring assault on an Eldar Craft World in an effort to regroup their losses. Sense this raid The Youngest has not been seen at any social gathering He has been seen inspecting his troops, he obviously suffered a shameful disfigurement.

997M41: Most of the Kabal's Forces have left Port Shard in their Spacecrafts. Leaving the Spire to the Coven to use, and the Cult to Protect. There is rumors that the Kabal is on or near an ice planet, in search of slaves and something else. About half their force is in Geo-stationary Orbit above the planet, the rest searching on the planet.
The Sister, with The Youngest not in The Dark City, has taken over day to day affairs of the Coterie, she travels between The Youngest's forces and the home spire, bringing slaves to The Dark City.

The Coterie Primary weapons are Dark light technology, with shard tech for their standard warriors. They use hit and run tactics- mounted in transports they zip around the battle field shooting into the edges of formations, avoiding close combat as much as possible. The Coven has become one of the leaders in knowledge of the soul drain, and its effects. The Cult is known for it's intoxicating reaver races, and binge parties. The parties they host for other kabals, has made them a fixture on the social scene.

The Kabal is the primary raiding force of the Coterie, funding both the research and parties of it's allies. They target Craft World Eldar for the most part.
