RaW night vision makes us ignore the effects of night fighting. One of the "effects" of NF is that you can get stealth or shrouded when targeted. If we have to ignore this effect of NF, do we not get the extra cover?

The negative effects of Night Fight apply to our opponent. Unless Night Vision allows our opponents to ignore Night Fight then we can still benefit from Stealth, Shrouded and no firing > 36".

+1 to Count Adhemar

The rule is worded in a way that it applies always to the firer. If we fire, we ignore the effect, that our target is treated as if it had Stealth, Shrouded or can't be targeted. But when we are shot at, we don't have to ignore anything, because it applies to our opponent, who can't ignore the effect, that our units are treated as if they had Stealth, Shrouded or can't be targeted.
