I've run my Archon with CF as a babysitter for my Grotesques. He does really well at nullifying Vet Sergeants with PF's, though I've been fortunate enough to avoid other butch IC's. For my money the CF is really where it's at if the unit that they lead is tough enough to give support. | |

| i have never put a clone field on and had to use it. call it a jinx. every time i use the shadowfield, i end up walking like a terminator into a group of enemies. for instance, i was using the duke a few days back and he; single handed, took out a dedicated transport and its crew after suffering 0 wounds. cant survive rapid fire barrages in a clone field. | |

| Clone Field is exceptional at nullifying high-strength shots, I've found. Basilisks, Lascannons and the like are much easier to bear when the unit has a Clone field Archon between them, saving many lives by completely removing up to three wounds. Like ESE said bit higher up, Clonefield Archon is more of a team player for a valuable, tough squad, such as Grots. Shadowfield Archon is more the solo action hero - it's all up to your dicerolls how long such Archon's rampage will last. Sometimes it will be a glorious slaughter spanning entire turns and causing tens if not hundreds of wounds saved, while other times the Archon will trip in the first turn, fall on his face and pop his shield straight away. | |

| It's worded a bit weird, but it only works in CC. If it worked for shooting as well it would be THE only choice. I use it when my archon is leading a unit of Grotesques as the big boys can take Las Cannon shots and keep on going. | |

| Aye, Clonefield Archon is interlapping with Wyches role, both hate being shot at. | |
