500 Point Beastmasters

What do people think of Beastmasters in a low point value game?
An army like this maybe:

Baron Sathonyx

[5] Wyches w/Haywire Grenades; Venom w/Splinter Cannon

[3] Beastmasters; [4] Khymera; [4] Razorwing Flocks

Thoughts? Do you feel this army is viable? Any glaring issues I should fix?

Lol, I was discussing this one with a number of people in the chat this morning as well.
I don't own any Venoms and the local meta makes Dissies pretty darn tempting anyway but the chat deved the list

at 500pts I'd say it's probably viable. becareful with the troops, but then... if you eat all his troops you still win anyway.

Do you feel PGL is worth it on such a small squad? 40 points is alot to spend at 500 after all and you're giving up 2 razorwing flocks to get them. Maybe I'm just undervaluing it? Or do you want the Hekatrix as well? For the Leadership I assume but at the same time they're only squads of 5. If they gets shot at or their transport blows up they're probably dead anyway...

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I see you point on the points sink and will have to think that over. My normal knee jerk response is "Are you taking Wyches? Then take a PGL" but with extra bodies and the low points level for the game it may be worth more to drop the PGL and take an additional body or two, especially since I would already be taking raiders instead of the venoms that most people would probably advocate.
