The Monthly Vow - December - the end is nigh!

In case you have been living under a rock, our pathetic mon-keigh world will vaporize itself on 21.12.2012, so if you have anything left that you want to get painted, NOW would be a good time!

And there's that pesky Santa Raid-thing as well, better get your gifts mailed and delivered before the Big Bang so everyone can go out with a smile on their face

Sign yourselves up, make a vow about what you are going to build/paint/convert during the month of December ..... well, at least before the 21st ........ and then show us your progress with a picture (we do operate on the honour system, but that only goes so far here in Commorragh, so a picture or a link to a pic would be luv'ly).

Don't get vaporized in vain! Challenge yourself, a friend or an online colleague to clear off your workbenches. This should be plenty of motivation for yourself and others.

Going to try for some converted Beastmasters, using Cold One Knights and some spare Wych parts. Now just need to decide what colour to paint the Cold Ones...

I've been crazy busy with teaching, but with the upcoming winter break I'll have time to paint again! This month I vow to complete the following things:
-Convert and paint my Secret Santa Gift
-Paint 5 Eldar Rangers (I'm reading Path of the Outcast right now )
-Finish painting my Corsair Prince.

Really don't want to commit to anything else given my abysmal track record the last two months

Small update: worked out the paint scheme for my Rangers. 3/5 are done now!


On to finishing that Secret Santa gift! (And writing evaluations for all of my students )

Your Rangers look a treat ESE! My son has two squads and I have had them half-painted for him for the past 2-1/2 years. I finished most of the rest of his (largish) CWE army, just lost motivation and time with these.

They are awesome figs, and now that we can ally with them, I will have to get them done.

Colour me purple for December, my Santa gift is finished and will hit the post office tomorrow. Plenty of time for my giftee.

I've got about a dozen of the old metal Rangers and whilst they are nice, the newer version is so much nicer. If they weren't failcast I might even be tempted to buy some to replace my existing models.

My son has the newer version, but in metal. I would like to get some more in FC, but haven't been able to justify the cost yet.

I have had some epic failures from FC purchases, but overall my experience has been more positive than negative. The real value of FC for me is the ease of conversion work with it, versus metal. Thus, failcast Rangers can also become the coolest of Trueborn, as shown by Kristwithak. I dearly want to make some of these myself, but I already have numerous Trueborn. ......... One day.

Secret Santa gift is painted. I'll post pics after my giftee confirms that he has received it.
Started the other two rangers tonight. Should have them done by tomorrow night. Corsair Prince will get the treatment Friday/Saturday This will be the first time in a while that I've actually completed my vow

As I mentioned in your log ESE, that is a beautiful model, all the more so because it is a gift for someone else.

Count Adhemar, your Beastmasters are terrific! Excellent models you created for them, and the paint job is fantastic. So clean and crisp. The colours will make them absolutely 'pop' on the tabletop, and the detailing really stands out. Very nicely done.

So endeth 2012, a good month for finishing painting vows!
