Baron joining Grotesques

My currrent list is THIS

Now I am curious if the Baron is a better option for the Grotesques. I get a second Hit & run unit, a second 2++, PGL for the grotesques, +1 to go first, Stealth on the Grotesques (which is great) etc... I am pretty sure you all know what the Baron contributes with. The Baron is Bulky so there is just enough room for him on that Raider. My question to you is: Is that a good tactic? Has anybody tried it?

The think is that, that Raider is nr 1 target for pretty much any army I have met. They just dot like that unit (with the Succubus in it) and the result of that is that the unit gets to do a lot of walking and running. Now, based on my experiences with the harlie star on the same list, Hit & Run can actually get a unit surprising fast close to the enemy. With the Baron in the Grotesque unit I get two units with that special rule. The harliestar has 2+ cover with reroll (in cover) and the Grotesque unit gets a 3+/4+ cover and FNP with T5... now thats not bad, not bad at all.

The grotesque unit don't have fleet thus not being able to run as fast as the Harlies but thats why they are in a Raider.... but that Raider wont last for long.

I haven't tried that combo yet but I have great expectations.... What do you think?

I don't think the Baron can go in a Raider as he is Jump Infantry. Pg78

Well, Thats the end of that fairy tell.... Good call. Thx. I guess runing the unit without the Raider makes it to slow.... alltthough I could get 2 more Grotesques in that unit instead og the raider... hmm...

What about them in raider and baron hiding behind raider until they get out, at which point he joins?

You'd have to be very careful, as one lucky lascannon shot - pew! One dead baron. You'd have to keep him out of pretty much all LoS, which could be problematic. A better tactic would bejust footslogging a large unit, but that might not work either.

Alternatively, you could have Baron with some Hellions/Jump Infantry following that Raider, but that will get very expensive. 15 Hellions + Baron + 3-5 Grotesques is a lot of points, likely better applied elsewhere.

That said, it'd scare the pants off quite a few people I know .
