Poisoned Weapon

With poisoned melee weapons hit in CC, they must re-roll failed to wound rolls if the T of the attacker is equal or higher. Does this also apply for ranged weapons so a Kabalite Warrior shoots a T3 Guard, does he re-roll wound. And maybe double if you're bringing splinter racks?

If the S involved in a poison attack is >= to the T of the target, to wound rolls get re-rolled. Splinter weapons have no S value. So no, ranged attacks don't re-roll. And even if they did, racks wouldn't affect it, as the racks cause a re-roll to hit, not wound. Also, no roll can be re-rolled more than once either way.

Strength values are pretty much never used for ranged attacks unless it strictly says so. I believe there was once a Tyranid unit that was like that, but can't recall any that works like that today.

Never understood why it only applies to melee attacks. Would be a very useful boost to certain armies (mainly us and Tyranids) if it also applied to shooting.

Splinter Weapons do have a Strength value (it's in the Poisoned section "If no Strength value is listed then the value is 1") but it's not like it matters in practice so...

Thanks for the responses! In close combat I read the rules and you can in fact but the splinter weapons no. And never knew about the cant re-roll twice until last night when I read it but thanks everyone!
