| Hi all. Another tournament approaching and I’m balancing between taking my BA (GK allies) or mono DE list to the event. Neither is the near top tier tournament codex but I’d like to have a list that I like to play with. The tournament is not going to be very competitive and forge world stuff is allowed. Baroness Sathonyx 105 3 Trueborn, 2 dl, Venom, 2sc 151 3 Trueborn, 2 dl, Venom, 2sc 151 5 Wyches, hg, Venom, 2sc 125 5 Wyches, hg, Venom, 2sc 125 8 Kabalites, bl, Raider, disint, 147 8 Kabalites, bl, Raider, disint, 147 8 Kabalites, bl, Raider, disint, 147 7 Kabalites, bl, Raider, disint, 138 4 Beast masters, 8 Khymera, 4 RWF 204 Razorwing jet, 2dl, ff 155 Razorwing jet, 2dl, ff 155 Bastion, comm’s 95 1845pts. The static Bastion has worked for me very well. I can hide behind it with my Raiders and Venoms as well as the one troop that mans comm’s relay to make those jets come in T2. All the shots that go to it are not going to hurt my skimmers. Usually I can place it so that I have excellent fields of fire with the 2 dark lances and a heavy bolter. The big beast herd hunts vehicles mainly but can be used to clean up if it survives to the late game.

| I think people uild to mostly fight MEQ so bringing DE will be a nice spanner in their works. Also Venoms are awesome for Nids, Deamons and of course marines. Why Dissies over DL's. I run 1 Ravager w/ Dissies and it makes back twice its pts in the first 2 turns more often than not. Punishment for those blobs outside cover. Perfect weapon for Focus Firing too. I am a bit concerned with the lack of AT turn 1. You have 4 Lances, that if you don't go first, will be snap firing as they fly out from behind their cover. You could drop 1 of the Warrior Gunboats to get a Ravager in there. EDIT: Sorry, over looked the part about you placing the Bastion so the Lances have fire lanes....that's better than Snap Firing | |

| Thanks for comments. I'm a bit hesitant to change one of the warriors to ravager alltough It's possible to downgrade the warriors in to 5 men an take one Khymera from beastpack away for a DL Ravager.
Raider have dissies for Focus fire possibilities against MEQ and TEQ armies. And having lances in Raiders has not worked for me that good.
The Bastions fire points are pretty high so I get good fireing lanes above some of the terrain. And AV14 is something very different in DE army. It's also possible to position both trueborns in/on to it.

| New version with smaller troops but 3 more dark lance from T1. I also changed Raiders for the girls for added charge range. Venoms usually don't want to get close.

| If you want to change drop a razoring to a ravanger I would suggest changing the second razor wing to a VB with 2 shatter field missiles and flicker field. This way your 1 flyer is more durable, has better At/AA and still has St7 missiles for AI and light armour.

| Ok guys. Tomorrows the tournament with three games (The scouring / Hammer and anvil, Crusade / DoW and Big gunz.../ Vanguard) So no kill points, good for me although my troops are fragile. I ended up taking the second list since it has much better long range AT on T1.
I' going to make at least some sort of report how it went. Hopefully I have the time and remember to take photos along the way as they make recapping the games much easier.
The last three times I have been to that club for a tournament haven't been very easy for me and my winning percent is something like under 20 there. Hopefully it gets better this time. This is my first time there with DE there, others have been with BA and SM (both twice). | |

| Another two tournament upcoming within next months time. All painted this time so no big adjustments to my list but slightly varied it to the first tournament.

This it is a bit more agressive. I even have possibility to use Barons BS6 for the quad gun if there is no need for the beastpack to advance very far on T1 or 2. Two blasterborns not optimal unit, but I don't want to give up my one blaster in each warrior unit.

| The bastion is great. Only once (in 15 games or so) it has been destroyed before rest of my force is wiped out. And usually it stays untouched for the whole game. Three true born, no matter how shooty, are not target enough. And it is AV14 between AV10 Raiders and Venoms. Being able to get cover on T1 on every board is very valuable thing. And it grants me access to quad gun and previously to reserves manipulation. | |

| Sorry, no report but I managed to won the game even with out good target priority.
But anyway. I participated a tournament with ~30 players. My first opponent was Ork cans and dreads. Not very competetive list or player. 10-0 victory. Second game was killpoint/objectives against BA/IG with one 7" artillery piece. Even though he stole the initiative darkness protected me and I was able to secure 15-5 victory. Last game of the day was against TAU with 4 tetras. Killed everything else and tabled him afterwards. 20-0 for me. Next day, a good hangover and my first opponent was necrons with 4 flyers, 2 AB:s and 2 wraith, units. Quad gun was golden and my dice vere on fire. He conseded after T5 having only one flyer and 2 troop units against most of my army. 20-0 again for me. Last game was big gunz/relic. I lost first turn and side selection and no night fight. And I didn't steal the iniative. But my opponent was nids. Even with horrible first two turns I was able to beat him 13-7 which was enough for my first two day tournament victory!

| Honestly, since you're running 5-man squads, there is literally no reason to be running Disintegrator Raiders instead of Venoms. And i'm surprised you're able to get away with so little anti-tank, I find myself needing 20-25 lance weapons at any given points value. still, seems to work for you, so what can I say. | |

Except that I don't have more than 5 Venoms Raiders have 3 hull points and are a lot longer than venoms. That helps wyches a lot. That extra hullpoint compared to Venoms 2 has made the difference many times. And they make slightly better blockers than Venoms. But I wouldn't go all Raiders eather. It also messes up with opponents target priority to have a mix of Raiders and Venoms - Flayed_Heart_Kabal wrote:

I might be light on lances but not on antitank. All of my units are capable of takeing out an AV 11/10 vehicle if needed except Venoms. I have noticed that even if not so many of my units can single handedly take out a tank I usually have many shots to those tanks that I need to take out. And I can usually disable 2 to 4 vehicles a turn with my list. But I have to admit that when facing 12 Chimeras or Razorbacks/Rifflemen I'm most likely going to lose if the player knows what he's doing. But luckily there are not so many of those lists/players here. Although a few excists. | |
