| Another list 1500 pts
Archon with Blasterborn 5blasters in venom w 2nd SC 4 warrior squads 4 blasters in venom w 2nd SC 2 Reaversquads 6 blasters 2 Ravagers 6 Dark lances
There is more then one way to survive. One is to have heavy armor (not D.E.), Two target saturation (massive numbers/raiders) Three move faster then they can shoot (void raven/ razor wing) Four Stay out of bullet paths (Venoms with blaster mounted troops I feel is the best way to do this.)
Stay out of Line Of sight Venoms are easier to hide, Reavers get their run to cover movement etc. Not an easy way of doing things but a Dark Eldar way of doing things.

Just as I usualy say about the flyers, it doesnt really fit that well in to our lists. We need the hard hitting alpha strike, and then you need your cheapest and best AT in turn 1. Thats the Ravager. The voidraven might survive longer, and I say might because if you are playing against other flyers it wont. And you will get less use of it. Therefore as a all comers its alot worse than Ravanger. DE flyers are there really to take out other flyers, but the problem with it is that it comes in at earliest T2. Now, as a DE player you usualy want to start, that means its a big chance you get it in BEFORE his flyers, in other words it wont kill anything that is flyers. And if you get it in after his flyers, well then you MIGHT get 1 flyer out of the sky, but its going to be dead next round so really whats the point? The model is cool, and missils are awsome. The problem is that for an allcommers list Ravager is just miles ahead. So when it gets down to it your properly going to get more out of the ravager. Now on how to get AT i go for blasters, blasters and blasters wherever I can fit them. Liking Reavers better and better aswell, and beasts are good at everything AV11 and 10.

Mine aren't! 1. The razorwing comes with 4 decent missiles included in its base cost, but they aren't anti-flyer missiles, they're anti-personnel. 2. If you're trying for the first turn, then your opponent's flyers will almost certainly get the drop on you and you'll be on the back foot, because your flyer is going to be on the table first. 3. Shooting your lances (be they of the dark or void variety) against heavily armoured tanks makes the most of the lance rule, I'm not aware of any AV13 or 14 flyers at this point? I play my flyers therefore with a dual role, come in as early as possible (don't forget, one of the strategic warlord traits lets you re-roll failed reserves rolls) and fire off your missiles in the first two turns on the board. Then concentrate on causing trouble to your opponents vehicles with your lances/mine/splinter cannon. You don't have to play turn 1 alpha strike as Dark Eldar, with decent terrain on the board, your opponent still shouldn't be able to see too much in their turn one even if you do go first. As plenty of the earlier posts have stated, it's best to spread your AT around lots of different units, and i do so hate to see lists without variety, I don't have a single duplicate unit in my collection for that reason.

| The Burning eye; Then it comes down to how you play, aganist friends or competitive?
Bacause I reckon you are going to struggle in turnements with that approach... From my experience there isnt enough Tarrain.

| It's a fair point, I have no tournament experience, I play friendlies. Actually, unit spamming is one reason I don't play tournaments, i play as a natural extension of collecting not as an end in itself, which is another reason for taking a wide variety of units - it looks so much better! | |

| I do agree with you, its more fun to play with a wide range of units. Its the reason I have about everything there is now from DE. But I also love playing turnements.
In friendly games there is enough tarrain to hide like that indeed and then get the use of razorwing or voidbomber.
So in other words it kinda is up to what kind of game he is playing...

| I am currently running 2 ravagers (6DL), 2 Raiders (2DL), Razorwing (2DL), wyches with haywire in various numbers, Reavers with HL (2-4 depending on unit sizes), Duke's blaster. Generally run two or three venoms, but unless it is a wychy unit I don't try to do AT off of them like I did in fifth. mix of raider/venom depends on point level. I have found this fairly sufficient for most games. Though, I think I may switch over to blasters on the reavers after reading this thread. I like the single DL on the raiders. Once they drop their charges off, they tend to get ignored, and if they concentrate on them, that is just more that isn't shot at. I try to get the reavers to the back armor and force the decision. Leave it exposed or chase down my 3+ jink save reavers who just bladevaned some infantry on the way | |

| I've not had too much success with my reavers as yet, bar a bladevane attack where they took out 9 fire warriors. Twice they've been hit by Tau markerlights to remove their coversave (honestly, the Tau guy I play against almost never misses with the damn things, 7 hits out of eight shots is about average for him!) and the other occasion they got first turn ambushed by Vulkan He'Stan and a flamer squad on the first turn drop pod assault.
