| - Duke Sliscus the Serpent - 150 - 4 Kabalite Trueborn - 153 with Splinter Cannon (x2); Shardcarbines on Venom with 2 Splinter Cannons
- Haemonculus - 80 with Venom Blade, Liquifier; Shattershard - 4 Incubi - 148 on Raider
- 10 Kabalite Warriors - 115 with Dark Lance hiding in Bastion - 75
- 7 Wyches - 186 with Haywire grenades + Hekatrix with agoniser on Raider
- 10 Scourges - 260 with 4 Splinter Cannons
- 10 Scourges - 280 with 4 blasters
- 6 Reavers - 156 with 2 Heat Lances
- Talos Pain Engine - 105 with Liquifier
- Ravager - 115 with Night Shields
- Voidraven Bomber - 175 with 2 Shatterfield Missiles and Flickerfield
The plan is the following Wyches and Incubi deep strike or turbo boost behind the enemy lines, Raiders have a bit more survivability in comparison with Venoms (by the way I hate Venom-storm tactic). Blaster scourges deep strike close to enemy Vehicles and assault them, reavers will support them with heat lances or support Splinter Scourges with their bladevanes. Warriors will shoot the enemy vehicles with dark lance from the Bastion, which will also provide 3+ cover to my Ravager. Talos will cover my back from deep striking enemies or will serve as a bullet magnet, if the enemy chooses defensive tactics. The bomber will deal with enemy flyers or with Vehicles on the ground. Or with nasty infantry.
It is still a great question what is better for blaster Scourges - haywire or usual blasters? I choose the 2nd option. Haywires are great in dealing with vehicles, but I will suck if there will be no proper target for them (tyranids for example). Moreover I have enough supporting units for the case when my scourges fail to blow up a tank.
As for Voidraven - it is more preferable in my view than Razorwing, because it is better with dealing with flying Land Raiders, more tough and can attack a target he flyes over with the void mine.

| So, I've played competitive DE for a while, and had some success. They are very good, despite what people might say, and can compete against the best armies out there. However, I see two major problems with your list, and some nitpicky ones.
First off, only 2 troops at 2k is not going to fly in a competitive environment. At 1750 and above, you need 6 troops, period. Generally, for troops I would take a mix of Wyches in raider with haemonculi (never take wyches without a haemonculus, ever), Warrior squads with splinter rifles and a splinter cannon in a splinter rack raider, and 5 man blaster squads in venoms. All of those options are very strong, but I wouldn't take only one of them.
The second issue is the bastion. For DE to survive in a competitive environment, you have to play aggressively. That is the ONLY way to beat flyers. Part of this is not wasting a single point on anything. The Bastion is accomplishing both of those no-nos. you're paying 75 points for something that's not moving, has pretty much no offensive output, and doesn't benefit the unit inside all that much. A raider would be a much better use of points.
As far as the rest of the list goes, drop the Talos. You said he was in there for backfield protection, but if you are playing aggressively you shouldn't be worrying about your backfield. And drop the reavers. They're fine for fun/casual gaming, but for 30 points less you can get a warrior venom squad, which is a WAY better investment. The scourges seem fine, but I wouldn't take 10 in a unit, 5 just seems like a better value for what you get.
I hope this helps! | |

| Thanks for your advise! The lack of troops is an issue, but I'll try to benefit from this, because these 2 small squads will be one of major targets of my opponent and I will use it. Moreover the aggressive style of game means that you don't care too much about markers, you are here to kill. This army lacks guys in Raiders and in Venoms because I find them too fragile. Exploding transports kill more warriors, the the enemy can shoot. That's why I choose the Bastion. I will give cover for my skimmers so I don't loose them on turn 1 if mt opponent goes first. Warriors inside will live longer and can shoot with dark lance and emplaced bolters across the battlefield. The main source of Dakka are scourges. They are well armored and unlike trueborn in Venom can't die from a single S5 shot. So I changed the overall aggression of the army for a bit more survivability. It's a risky and unusual tactics. Venom storm and Raider rush are well known to most players and everyone knows how to fight against them. | |

| T3 with 4+ armor really isn't any better than AV10 with a 5+invuln and just as many splinter cannons shots, and the venom squad is cheaper and scoring. And sure, they're going to focus their attention on killing your troops, which will take 1, maybe 2 turns. The great thing about wyches is that you can play them very aggressively...when you have 3-4 units of warriors still to score. If wyches are half your troops, and you don't have a haemonculus with them, you're in deep trouble. And with this list, you don't have a ton of blasters, lances, or splinter cannons: I have near 30 lance shots at 2k, and almost 100 splinter shots, and I still struggle to table people. so either you need to add more killy or more scoring: ideally both. | |

Substantial numbers. You made me feel that it would be a bad day for me on the tournament Anyway I don't have more models of Venoms and Raiders...
