Deepstriking flyers!

I usually end up nutting the desk whenever the subject of "counts as" comes up. Normal argument being "Just because A counts as B it isn't actually B". No but we treat it as though it was B, because THAT'S WHAT COUNTS AS MEANS!!!!

Those kind of arguments really annoy me, not just because they are idiotic, but because I can imagine some poor player being ambushed by such an argument during a game, and then browbeaten into accepting it by their opponent and his/her cronies because they weren't prepared. And you don't always have a tournament judge on hand because you are not always playing at a tournament.

The 'counts as' phrase is used a number of times in the rulebook, e.g. the Lance rule. Are we to ignore that rule entirely now? And the others that also contain that phrase?

And Shadows is right, why does he suddenly bring fluff into his argument? Such people usually hate the fluff because it's always excluded from RAW discussions. What nonsense!

I was rather shocked that he would do it in a tournament, let alone even consider doing it in a friendly game. The way he used the word "punishing them for it", was just pathetic, like he was getting a power trip out of it.

How about this to really get the rule-lawyers going:

The entire game is "Count As" - we roll a bunch of dice, which "count as" little plastic men shooting and swinging pointy sticks at each other, but they don't actually shoot anything or do any of that, so therefore nothing actually has happened. Game over.
