500pt mini-campaign Army

Evening chaps,

I'm entering a mini-campaign starting in a couple of weeks and need a 500pt army.

Based on extremely limited experience and looking to maximise fun and mayhem this is what I've dreamt up:

HQ Haemonculus + Liquifier gun (I love that, like something Dr Evil would invent)
Troop 1 - 4xWracks + Liquifier gun & Venom + Splinter cannon
Troop 2 - 10xKabalite warriors +Splinter Cannon + Shredder & Raider
Fast Attack - 5xHellions
Fast Attack - 3xReavers+Heat Lance

Opinions and options would be most welcome

Wracks need to be in squads of 5 before they can take a liquifier gun and shredders are not worth investing in as their range is too short and while expose the warriors for little gain, those five points would be better off giving the haemonculus a venom blade.

I knew I'd tie myself in knots thinking about this!

Leaves me 10 points from not having the liquifier gun. More thought required.

Always good to remember that you can have 3 Haemonculi with one HQ choice, but if you have just a few points left, you probably should replace the shredder with a blaster.

I think I'm stuck with 1 haemonculus for this list unless I lose the hellions or reavers - and so far they've proved their worth (if not their longevity) to me! For a bigger army I'll be looking at more haemonculi.

I'm toying with the blaster now you've mentioned it and may well go down that route.

Mind you I still need to build the Venom so if real life intervenes too much I may have to rethink it all anyway...

well, only thing i want to point out is that hellions are frail. But again, i have little experience with such small games.

The hellions are frail but they are fun and seem to cause panic way beond their real effectiveness...at least so far! But your point is noted and thank you for the input. I think the unit is too small really, same for the reavers - but I'm on a learning curve so before I splash out more cash I need to work out what works best for me.

You only have 2 weapons to blow up tanks which i don`t think is enough. I`d take 1 or 2 ravagers.

its a nice idea but at 105 pts each may be a bit beyond my means for a 500pt army, and my opponents can't afford much armour either!- still its worth a thought, and it would give me an excuse to build a ravager too
