| @ Marrath. Thanks. I bet they get up to some jolly good fun on those raids, although o can't imagine them sneaking up on anyone with all the trumpets and drums in the army so far | |

| This project log is one of the few reasons I continue to come back to this site, even after stopping warhammer once 7th edition dropped. These models are as great as ever | |

| Well since you brought it up I went ahead and looked through the GW page and saw something I did like . . . That being the beautiful 85$ box of Miilitarum Tempestus. I'll probably get back in with a few boxes of that since they've been my favorite model-range since they were released. | |

| @Lord_Alino. I think the new Astra militarum models are awesome. The models GE has been putting out the last few years have been pretty incredible tbh. I am not a huge fan of the Taurox but with wheels instead of the tracks it looks pretty good | |

| The Taurox is one of favorite models they've ever released (followed by the Scions and the Voidraven) I think it's beautiful. Although, I don't know why because I'd never be caught dead driving something like it IRL. | |

| *Drools* Quite awesome! I wonder what a ticket for this circus would cost... A soul? A butt full of pain? Anyway it is an impressive collection indeed! Maybe one day i will have an army as cool as that. I hope. Good job! | |

| @CurstAlchemist. Thanks very much . I am pleased everything is tying in together. Always a danger things clash and don't work when you put them together. @BetrayTheWorld. Cheers . It has been alot of fun to work on over the last 2 years, and I have plenty more to paint, and ideas aplenty on how to expand it (thinking more Eldar allies and Corsair units to have a very flexible army). @Marrath Thanks Dude . I reckon it would cost both, and more! Dark Eldar are not ones to scrimp on pleasure and pain! I want to do some terrain soon as well to fit with this army. Reckon that would be alot of fun. @Lord_Alino. I shall send the wracks to deliver them to you. The price will be steep! | |

| These are looking really sweet, Spellcheck. I hadn't checked in here for a while, so to see them all grouped together is quite a spectacle. I can easily say this is unique and I haven't seen a DE army that is comparable.
I was going to suggest poking somebody to get it put in the Project Logs of Legend, but I see it is already there.
Keep up the great work! | |

| Greetings o wise and evil denizens. Hot off the painting desk I bring you the 3rd Talos for La Danse Macabre. I have literally just finished him, and got so excited I whipped out the foldio and got some pictures taken to show you all straight away I recently set myself a goal to finish the 3 Talos I still had remaining to paint in time for my local club tournament and fluffaggeddon, which are both in November. I have to admit, the start of painting this guy was excruciating! There are so many recessed details that were hard to reach with a paintbrush, and even when all the base colours were applied it looked a complete dogs dinner. It was only when the highlighting stages started that a ray of light appeared and the idea in my head started to come into reality (instead of looking like a pile of crap). It has taken a douple of weeks of solid paintimg to get to this stage, but I amextremely relieved and pleased to say it has been a success! The whole process ended up being very rewarding, in spite of the early discouragements and I absolutely love the end resuly. I wanted quite a candy feel to the scheme for this talos (don't ask me why, it just felt it would fit somehow) so I picked the pink and turquoise blue for the main armour colours, of course using the standard army red to tie it together with everything else. I decided on the orange for the feather and loin cloth later on, after the intial colours had already been applied, as I could not think of anythig that would fit when imagining the scheme on him. Luckily I have a Malifaux crew that use a very dirty orange for part of their colour palette, and after ruminating for a while I decided on this (albeit slightly brighter) for the spot colour, as it is still quite subtle compared to the more in your face vibrant colours of the pink and blue. After all these colours were chosen and painted I cracked on with doing the skin, which I was really looking forward to. The face was particularly fun to paint, and is very successful, coming across as quite violent in expression. I tried to paint flaky skin on areas of the arm where there were raised parts sculpted (A leftover from the skaven origin of this conversion) which in the end turned out pretty well too. The final touch was the ball. I left this till last as I really had not made up my mind on how I was going to paint it. I originally thought of doing it as a beach ball, much like the monkeys in my beast pack, but after all the colours were on and I could see the mini nearly complete I felt this would not work, the bright colours of a beach ball would just clash too much with an already bright colour scheme. After a little reflection the idea came to me that the while Talos looked like something from a pack of cards, or alice in wonderland, and I should use that as the inspiration for the pattern on it. I picked black and white as complementary colours to the rest, and picked out a fleur de lis as the pattern I would paint onto the ball, kinda going on the card inspiration still. Once this was done the model was varnished twice and then the finishing touches applied, such as glossing all the vials, adding leaves and grass to the base etc etc. Feedback on this badboy is of course appreciated . I still have another two to go, but will have a little rest and paint something else before embarking on the next. SC | |

| Awesome work Spellcheck. Great to see all of them on display. You've clearly put a lot of work into this army and it's paid off - you would have to have the single most unique DE army within the Dark City. Take a bow Side note, love the liquid effect you have happening on the tubes in that last photo. Would you be willing to share how you achieved that? My talos is wanting to know.... | |

That would be awesome. Don't go to too much trouble on my account even just a description of the steps to produce the effect would be great. Cheers SC! | |

| Good lord, this is madness of the best kind. Your conversion work is excellent but I think I know why I am in awe of this army. It is the quality of painting. I have seen people who can paint to this quality, but you use a wide range of colours and get them all completed beautifully. It must be an ode to your patience, for if I had that many colours I would end up moving onto something else and leave a model gathering dust after the base colours were applied. | |
